Noragami: Stray God 17

I loved delving into the complexities of Takemikazuchi and his shinki’s relationship! It was so interesting! The art is this volume, per usual, was amazing, and the action scenes were kick*ss! 5 stars!

Excellent continuation of the series! Action packed, flawless plot, still full of the same humor and awesome art! I can't wait for the next one! It got here really fast, too. And in perfect condition.

Every installment gets even more intense then the last yet the important and thought provoking character back stories still hit all the heartbreaking notes in the same stride. Already preordered the next one!

You know that mystery character from American Gods that nobody can remember? Well what if you based a story around him and set it in Japan. How does a god that requires belief to survive, do so when nobody can retain their memories of him?I marathon bought and read all the books in this series to date after watching the anime. This is not something that I normally do so this series occupies a special place in that regard. It does that thing that I like of mixing the mundane nature of the normal world with the other-worldliness of the other. Readers of Neil Gaiman's work or fans of the Bakamonogatari series will know that vibe. I say give it a shot. Despite already knowing most of the story from the anime I do not regret buying and reading the story in the "original" format.

Not quite 5-star because of one thing: this volume doesn't enable viewing two pages side-by-side in landscape orientation. And given how beautiful the art is and how diligent the other volumes have been about cleaning up the artwork so the pages join flawlessly, it's a shame that this volume and vol. 15 are the odd ones out for some reason. (Here's hoping a fixed version might be available in the future!)Other than that, still an excellent volume continuing the character's development!
