I purchased this 10-piece 1/4" carbide-tipped cutting set to stock up on tooling for my mini lathe, and the performance has been absolutely outstanding. Buying individual indexable tools can get incredibly expensive, so getting a complete 10-piece assortment capable of handling turning, boring, facing, and chamfering all in one kit is a phenomenal value for any hobbyist or home machinist. The build quality is excellent. The C6-grade carbide tips are incredibly hard and arrive ground sharp right out of the box. I have used them to turn down solid 304 stainless steel rods, brass bushings, and aluminum spacers, and they slice through the material cleanly with minimal resistance. The tools handle high-speed cutting and heavy facing cuts effortlessly without chipping or dulling prematurely. Because the tips are brazed onto robust 1/4" steel shanks, the tooling remains completely rigid under load, which eliminates tool chatter and helps you achieve a beautiful, smooth surface finish on your workpieces. Good for my mini lathe. 1/4” shank had to be grounded down to real 1/4” to fit the holding sluts.

Works really well.

They did not work for me. They just don’t compare to Hardened steel bits. They might work on wood.

Sharp, and did not require any modification out of the package. Set in the tool post and straight to cutting.

Smaller than I needed but still work great for smaller projects quality tool

Must be sharpened on a diamond wheel before use. Will not cut well as shipped. Once sharpened the tool cuts well. Appears well made.
