Great pull-up bar
Before buying this, I searched and searched for a site with door frame pull-up bars that didn't look and sound like an advertisement or paid placement disguised as an actual review (and that's what just about all of them are). I finally found one that was written by a personal trainer and seems to be legit. He tested five pull-up bars and showed his whole process, include assembly. This bar is newer than his reviews and the model he reviewed is no longer made, but this one is its successor from the same company. Based on the review, I believe this one is probably not quite as good as the one tested (a little cheaper), but it's still really good and an outstanding value for the money. I've had this up for a couple weeks now, and have gone from not even being able to do one pull-up to be able to do six on the "easy" handles if I really push hard on the last one. When I get to ten, I'm going to start working on underhanded pull-ups. So, it is certainly serving its intended purpose well and has been a great and low-cost investment in upper body strength. I'm also using it for dips and push-ups (can't do regular ones because of RSI problems in my wrists). I keep this bar hanging in our bedroom doorway all day so that it's convenient to stop and do some pull-ups if I'm passing by. My two teenagers and my 8 year old have also gotten into it, although none of them are even close to me in pull-ups yet LOL. I haven't run into any of the hardware issues some buyers have noted, but like others said, don't over-tighten the screws. The instructions were very clear, accurate and detailed, and it was easy to assemble. The storage space in the door frame bar for the two hex wrenches is really convenient. Periodically, check the screws for tightness. I've had to re-tighten them a couple of times, but that's to be expected in a piece of exercise equipment like this. This pull-up bar is a great value, and I'd still buy it again.

Pull-up bar recommended by TheWirecutter
I don't always agree with TheWirecutter recommendations, but I believe they've found a gem in this pull-up bar. I bought the Perfect Fitness Pro model at MSRP ($34.99). I've been using it for about two weeks now with no complaints. Although other bars may be cheaper (like the Sport Compact model from this same company) I find that the round foam contact creates a point of high pressure that may end up damaging your doorway molding. On the Pro, I'm more confident that the large surface area contacting the molding will better distribute the pressure and prevent any damage. I'll know for sure once I've used this pullup bar longer. I think the $10 premium over other standard doorway pull-up bars is justified by this one point. I don't have to go wrapping the contacts with rags to try to prevent damage, so it's saved me a bit of hassle. The grips over the padding are useful in letting you adopt a grip wider than the doorway. Useful if you have wide shoulders or something. For me personally, the wide grip is a little too wide for me, and I end up gripping the non padded area for my wide grip (I'm 5'10 with average width shoulders/wingspan). Regardless, it's a nice feature for those who need it. There's a storage area in the back for the Allen keys needed to assemble the pull-up bar. Nice touch, but I'm not sure how often I'll be assembling and disassembling this product. The only nitpick I have is that when the bar isn't hooked into the doorway, there's a little bit of left-to-right wobble if you hold onto the curved pieces and shake. It was a little off-putting, but when hooked on the door it feels sturdy as a rock. No flexing or wobbling when I've been using it for the past two weeks. I'm 5'10 and 150lbs for your reference. Other than that, it really functions like any other doorway pull-up bar. Easy to pop off and stow away somewhere. I recommend this bar if you need a really wide grip or are tired of damaging your molding/having to pad other bars!

Worth the extra money. Almost perfect.
This pull-up bar provides adequate adjustments to fit different trim sizes and wall thicknesses. When properly adjusted, the pads make a broad AND flush contact against the door side trim to reduce the likelihood of marring or damage. Other pull-up bars concentrate contact on a narrow area which make it easier to damage your door's trim. Having the three different grips (wide to hit the lats, narrow, and wrist-neutral) are perfect for working the back and the biceps. Two hex wrenches are included so no additional tools are required. My only (minor) disappointment is that the rubber used on the top spar that hangs the bar from the top trim of the door. It can still make some light marks against the paint. After one month of use, I noticed faint dark patches. Depending on your paint, they can either be wiped off or will need to be painted over. I don't think I'll have to do either of those until after a year of use. It's nearly perfect and I'm glad I spent the extra money. I like the overall quality of this bar. I wish Perfect Fitness would create a version that has a dip attachment. That would complete my home-gym set-up.

Great buy
Awesome, just great, so good that my dad took it from me one day when he came to see me. Can't be mad if he loved it and it helps keep him healthy, then sure. It was able to fit in the bathroom and the bedroom doorway. it holds my weight just fine, and when my dad tried it as he is in the heavier size me it didn't break or bend. the grip on it was worth the amount I paid for as it helps with different workouts I can target when doing back and chest.

Family-Friendly Fitness Fun - Easy Setup and Sturdy Build!
The Perfect Fitness Multi-Gym Doorway Pull Up Bar has been a fantastic addition to our home. Installing it was a breeze, and it's become a fun activity for the whole family. I appreciate that it doesn't damage the doorframe, although I did add a few extra pads for extra precaution (which weren't included). The design is impressive, and the bar itself is incredibly sturdy, accommodating various exercises and users without any issues. For those seeking a versatile and family-friendly fitness solution, this pull-up bar is a winner. Its ease of installation, sturdy build, and engaging design make it an ideal addition to any home gym setup. Highly recommended for fitness enthusiasts of all levels!

Works great and can handle a lot of weight
I absolutely love it. I had researched many doorway pull-up bars and had heard that they cause marks on the door or wall. So far, no marks, and the wall looks ok after many uses. Assembly was extremely easy. Good instructions included. It also comes with two Allen wrenches to help with installation. Do not tighten the screw until you place it on the doorway and confirm that it fits securely. I had to readjust once. Once you find the right fit, it fits very securely on the doorway. It comes with a safety pin that you can attach to the wall to give you a little more security. I honestly don't think it's strong enough to hold. The design is such that when you put your weight the pressure will cause the pull up bar to push more against the wall so it will not fall. It's quite easy to remove the pull-up bar from the doorway and to place it back when needed. Overall the pull-up bar looks secure and strong and can handle 200lb weight without any issues. I highly recommend it.

wrap the contact points
As described. Looks nice. Perfect for apartment living. Initially thought it would not hold my weight but it does. Sons love it and use it almost every time they pass through the door. Our door’s open width is just about 32 to 33 inches hence the bar does not cover entire door frame but at least covers half the frame on both sides. It started to peel some paint off the door frame which I expected anyway due to downward and horizontal pressure that would be applied when in use. Just applied wrappers around the contact point and all good. Also love the safety clip (2 of them) that came with it - eliminated the fear of the bar coming off anytime. Well thought out. Assembly could take take some time - do not tighten all nuts as instructed, just check fitment and spacing before tightening.

Rock-solid pull-up bar and the first I've found that actually fits in old door frames!
I live in a 1919 apartment building - the walls are much thicker than in a typical modern building, and the original door frame trim isn't even close to the standardized moldings you can find at Home Depot or whatever big box store contractors get them from - they are both taller from top to bottom and deeper, with a lip that protrudes around the top edge, making it a tall order to find a pull-up bar that will actually fit. This one claims to fit up to 6" wide doorframes - I measured mine and they're actually closer to 6.7", so I took a chance. On the widest setting, it fits perfectly. Having multiple settings for doorframe sizes is a godsend, and the rectangular pads provide a sturdy feel that won't damage the woodwork. The setup feels much safer than the cheaper bar I had before. Highly recommend this one!

Better than expected!
This pull up bar is better than I expected. I got the "Pro" version. I had avoided buying a pull up bar for years assuming it'd be cheap and break easy, or that I'd damage my door frame. I use it everyday and love it. It is wide and only fits 2 of the 5 door frames in my apartment, but that's because most of the doors in my apartments are right next to a corner. It doesn't appear to be doing any damage to the door frame. I use it so often that I did have to buy workout gloves because I started to develop calluses on my hands.

very good and sturdy, hand padding will probably wear though
great product, but the spongy foam padding on the handles will wear off by the looks of things already

PERFECTA
