Men's Down Alternative Hooded Puffer Jacket (Standard and Big & Tall)

I purchased this coat for my husband. He likes the fact that it feels lightweight yet it’s very warm and cuts the wind.

First off, I have one complaint about this jacket. And that is that there is only one inside pocket and it's sideways. It's nice that it's zippered but I wish it was bigger, opened from the top, and had a pocket on each size. A complaint that seemed pretty common was how bulky the jacket is if you get your normal size. I am 6'2", 180 pounds, and I bought a large. It is slightly bulky around the waist area but it's not really a big deal. I also have long arms and the sleeve length was perfect for me. Don't forget this is a puffy jacket so it's meant to be bulky! Now for what I love about this jacket. 1. The price. I got it for less than $70 when msrp was over $200. That's a great deal in my books 2. Warmth. This jacket is seriously warm and will keep you toasty in cold weather zipped up, but it's also good for just slightly cool weather if you have it unzipped. I bought this jacket to take with me on a hiking trip around Utah and Arizona and this jacket was a lifesaver. 3. Windproof. The BEST thing about this jacket by far. I repeatedly thought to myself "wow" while I was out hiking. While I was in the grand canyon there were winds around 50mph while being around 20 degrees, and I didn't feel a thing. The only parts of me that were cold were the parts this jacket didn't cover! And all I wore underneath was a thermal and long sleeve shirt. I can't remember if this was advertised as waterproof but it was certainly snowproof. It did not rain on me during hiking - only snowed - so I can't speak to that.

I needed something that keeps me warm for the winter, it was going below 32 degrees and what I did earlier was wear 3 layers of clothing, but it didn't really work, even a small breeze was giving me shivering. My both roommates had this jacket exact brand and model. I tried theirs and it worked brilliantly, because the dry air condition is exactly what the puffer jacket is for. It wouldn't be as effective in humid conditions. And what I ordered was large sized, which came on discount. Remember to choose your size and don't fall for discount because if you take a large one, it might create gap for air to sneak in and give you chills. That is why the large size version is often returned. Choose the size wisely. And you won't regret it. Worth the price.
