Works, but not my favorite.
I thought it was supercool when I first got it, but it took seriously like 57 tries to get it to work with my TV. And it has weird large watch-type batteries that are already dead. It is neat that the thing has a clock on it, but it is really unnecessary and I think that's why the batteries are already dead. Sure was nice while it lasted, though!

Keep Looking
We bought 3 because they're only $5.00 Wanted to keep them in 3 specific areas. 1 works great. 1 of them frequently resets the entire remote so I have to program it all over again (if you use any of the buttons on the outside), and 1 of them is completely dead, new batteries, no difference. The 1 that does work fine, doesn't change the Input properly, so we're still going to need to get another remote to replace the original one. Live and learn - you get what you pay for!

Kind of cheap.
It is kind of cheaply made but for the money it works. My wife and I don't watch TV a lot and one of our dogs chewed up the remote the TV came with so we needed a new one. It is super simple to program.

not a fan
This item was received broken (the red light for programming did not work). It is compact but it does not feel sturdy I think I'm going to return it instead of replacing it.

Ground and negative wire soldered backwards
I tried programming this thing, held down the setup button for a few minutes, and no flashing indicator light. The clock nobody asked for worked. I took it apart and the teeny tiny craptacular wires connecting the boards were mixed up. The thing was NFG right out of the package. Before I got inside it I tried calling the hotline number, but it was disconnected. Par for the course for chinesium products.

Works better than generic flip remote
I like the style of flip remotes and purchased a generic one several years ago. The generic had a limited ability to controle the tv from far away. The Phillips unit has more features than the generic and I can use it 20 feet away from the tv with no problem. If you are looking for a remote that takes up little space on your stand by your chair, I would think that you would like this product.

My daughter likes this remote
The only thing my daughter doesn't like is that is doesn't have arrows. Otherwise she really likes this remote, it fits nicely on her bed side table and she loves that it folds up.

inexpensive and functional, exactly what I needed
My parents still have a CRT television and the remote for it died. Finding a simple universal remote was not easy, and this one did a great job. It is easy to set up, easy to use, and if it breaks after a couple of years of use, easy and inexpensive to replace.
