Espresso Spring Loaded Flat Tamper - 58 mm (Blue)

This is a great quality tamper, but I am thinking the 30lb thing is a little gimmicky. If you hold a portafilter to a mechanized process.where a machine tamps and you place for the brew then maybe that makes some sense. But for something you push down on i think it is probably not much more accurate. What happens if you tamp twice? There is nothing that tells you that you have reached or overtamped the grinds except the fact that the handle depresses to a stop point and you release from there. I guess I am saying it seems like there could be, and most probably is a plus / minus margin with it. But it is a quality piece. Just enjoy the coffee.

I like the solid feel of this tamper, I bought it to eliminate the variables when tamping and maintain that ever so important consistency needed in pulling good shots. The reason this only gets 4 stars is because the description says it clicks when reaching 30 lbs and at least mine does not. The only time it makes a noise is when the handle bottoms out and touches the disk. Otherwise, it is a solid tamper.

Superior quality. Expert design and amazing atheistic. A must have for serious as well as novice espresso and cappuccino enthusiast. Accuracy and repeatable tamps grounds to 30 pounds. This removes an important variable that allows user to focus on bean grind and brew temperature. I've had four other tampers. This is by far the best out there. Worth every penny.

So far so good. Apparently I tamped too hard in the past and this tamper keeps a consistent 30 lbs pressure every time and espresso extraction has been much improved ever since. Wish I had bought it a few years back.

Great product. My first draw was far better than when used the tamper that came with the espresso machine.

I love this thing. It's really a work of art. I should also mention that my espressos are better than ever. Couldn't be happier.
