Q: do these run slightly big?

They run long. I normally wear 30 length but got 28 and still I have to fold them if I'm wearing sneakers. The band is elastic so the width is as expected and comfortable.

Q: Do these jeans usually measure larger than the pant size? I ordered a pair of 32 regular and they measure 34 1/4" in the waist.

Unfortunately there is usually a bit of a swing when buying 7FAM jeans. I've got some that run a little big, some that run small, and some that run true to size. It varies based on the wash, but usually any wash with a bit of stretch in them will run a little big and 100% cotton runs TTS or small.

Q: The fabric is very light or is a firm?

Light weight and flexible...almost has slight stretch to it.
