Best Budget Battery Solution
I recently purchased a used Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (the original 1080p version) for my YouTube channel. I needed a battery solution and after some research I knew I needed to get one of these. I bought one a good while ago from another company in anticipation of getting this camera, but I was under the belief it could be powered on only 8 volts. That was wrong, as the camera needs 12 volts. I ordered this one, connected it right up, popped a Sony NP battery in there and it worked flawlessly. It can be strapped on or screwed onto various mounts. I can rig it up however I need. Works with the very common Sony NP-f550/960/970 batteries. -Nathyn Brendan Masters

Let my BMPCC 4K camera work for hours!
This device solves the problem of constant battery change with the BMPCC 4K. In addition, it is possible to change the battery without having to turn off the camera. A single Sony NP-F970 battery lasts me an hour and a half. The only problem is that it is very bulky, but when I use a tripod it can be placed perfectly well because it has a belcro strap that allows it to be tied to a leg. I found a way to use it with the DJI Ronin S as a counterweight on one of the arms of the device, without putting it directly on the camera. It's just under the allowed weight of 8 pounds with the big Sony battery. Placing it in this way prevents the cable from getting tangled when the gimbal moves.

First impressions: excellent external power solution for original BMPCC
I bought this specifically for the original Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (BMPCC), and this enables using much higher capacity Sony NP-F batteries to power BMPCC for long period of time. A few initial impressions: - The build is of good quality: yes it is plastic but of better grade, and overall fit and finish is excellent. - It is a simple solution, plug in the NP-F970 battery, the red light turns on, plug in the 12V cable to BMPCC, and it works properly. - The including clip enables kind of "fast release", while the tripod mounting is well designed with a tightening wheel so you don't have to rotate the entire plate. So far everything works out well for my BMPCC external power needs, at a very reasonable price. I will see how durable it is over the future months.

Great price. Secure this down though.
It will harness the power of the np-f battery and you will not run out of juice for the entire day. BUT... The back leaves much to be desired. The screw is plastic feel and won’t lock on completely. The Velcro isn’t strong enough to make up for the screws lack of strength. The SmallRig version, or Tilta, $33-40, that’s all metal, will screw in place and NOT move. The power junkie blind spot version is not all metal but very sturdy. It’s $60 because it has a USB, type-c port and type-b. It can power multiple things but cost $60. ANYWAY... this can work if you use a vise grip. For $14 this NF-p adapter

great value
This works great. I have a bunch of sony batteries that I need to re-purpose to run with my bmpcc camera which is notoriously crappy batteries.

Simple and effective
I used batteries (F550/570) that I already have for my monitor and it works fine. Very cheap way of making use of my Blackmagic.

This is the same product as the Andoer branded plate Andoer Battery Adapter Plate Base for BMPC BMCC BMPCC for Sony NP-F970 F750 F550 Battery with DC Cables . It works fine and holds the battery securely. The thumbwheel on the tripod mount seems like a good idea, in that you can position the plate and then tighten it off without having to rotate the whole plate (which may be impractical within your rig), but in practice it's impossible to tighten it sufficiently. But with this, the hot shoe mount point for which a right-angle bracket is also supplied, and the velcro strap, there's an adequate choice of mounting options.

This is an item sold by SmallRig but is not a branded SmallRig product. SmallRig is about to release a branded one that has a battery level indicator and looks to be a better quality but it will also be more expensive than this one. That said this battery adapter works great and does what it needs to do. I’d rather save the money and get a cheap one like this than the one SmallRig is releasing. It’s a battery plate so it doesn’t have to be amazing. Just good enough and a good price.
