Q: Is it the Light gray color really gray ? I bought the petrol and aqua and don’t look like that so I needed to return

I was looking for light blue and was told it was LiGHT BLUE! NADA . It’s like you said aqua. We’re not color blind

Q: when washing do the tassels come undone?

Have not noticed that the tassels come undone during washing. These actually wash and dry very well!

Q: Has anyone experienced green/black smudges coming off and staining things?

I have not bought this color but I have bought two other colors of similar and have not experienced any color extraction or stains coming off.
