Zoom ZDM-1 Dynamic Large Diaphragm Microphone

Really great dynamic microphone! Sounds clean and doesn't require a mic booster.I always suggest this mic to all my friend's cause of just the sound quality it delivers and the price is a steal.Great for streaming, recording vocals, podcasts, you name it.

Premetto che sono un amante dei microfoni a condensatore e ancor più di quelli a nastro, ma anche in questo caso ZOOM non si smentisce "perfetto in tutto", anche volendo non riuscirei trovare un pur che minimo difetto. Lo preferisco adirittura a molti altri blasonati microfoni dinamici che possiedo.

I'll be briefBuild- quality is excellent, body of the mic feels solid. Connection is good. The one negative point here is the plastic clip which connects the mic to a stand- the build on this part is a little weaker and the tightening nut has to be tightened to the last in order to hold the mic in position- I guess the weight is a little too much for itSound: Not too dissimilar to the Rode podmic- various reviewers have commented on slightly different frequency emphases and I guess with all mics it depends on your voice. I have used it very close up to about 4 inches away and it doesn't seem to have an overbearing proximity effect- the bass is fairly controlled. For the money it sounds good to me. I use it on a stand for online meetings and I have tried a few voiceovers on it. It picks up a little more of my surroundings (garden office) than I would like but that can be sorted more or less by turning down the gain and getting very close.In terms of gain- it needs less than my other dynamic podcast mics- which is the main reason I bought it- I was having to use a mic booster with the others and it was awkward and susceptible to mobile phone interference- whereas this one doesn't need a booster- which is greatOverall a good buy, about 30 cheaper than main competitor- my only concern is the mic clip which may not last. Lastly in terms of size it is a large diameter mic and won't fit in a standard shockmount.Generally recommended for the price.
