NEON Clumping Silica Gel Crystal Cat Litter, Purple

I could care less about the color other than it is a great marketing gimmick. I have used the crystals for years ever since they very first entered the market. I have always liked the crystals, but I hated how my kitty would always pee in the exact same spot and so over time I would eventually have to replace the litter pan. I considered metal, but that was too costly and I never could find the height that I wanted. Then I saw this and was impressed at the notion of finer crystals that clumped. OMG! The clumping rocks! It is superior to every clay clumping litter I have ever tried, and I have tried nearly everything except for the $20 to $30 stuff, because that pricepoint is too rich for my budget. Plus at that rate there better be diamond dust in it as far as I am concerned, otherwise that high dollar price is a rip off IMHO. This Neon fine clumping silica stuff rocks and works perfectly fine enough for me that I have no desire to ever mess with the high priced stuff. It is true that the clumps will stick hard to the plastic litter pan if left more than a day or two. We prefer to scoop everyday to avoid the hassle. In terms of smelly odor control, this stuff is rock solid. As for tracking that others have mentioned in their reviews, we actually have seen less tracking than with the crystals. I am surprised by that, because I would have expected the more of the little pebbles that are almost as fine as sand to stick to my kitty's paws or her fur surrounding her paw pads. I am pleasantly surprised that has not been the case. One thing I have done that has helped to cut down on tracking with all cat litter brands is I have been using the cheap Walmart brand 18 gallon totes. I used an exacto knife to cut out a hole just large enough for my kitty to pop in and out from the top. While this works with any brand of littler, I have noticed with there is significantly less tracking since switching to Neon over the last 2 to 3 weeks. I am pleased. We do see a few pebbles of course, but again far less. I am also a stickler about keeping a broom and dustbin right next to my kitty's litter box and we sweep every time we scoop. Doing that helps eliminate an accumulation, because obviously that stuff can stick to the bottoms of even our own shoes not just kitty paws. Any how, I think this product is by far the best I have ever used and at 50 years of being a kitty cat lover, and I think that says something. The price point is a bit more than I really wanted to spend at full price, so I waited until it was on sale. Then I scooped up a bunch of bags to get us through the next 6 months or longer. Still I won't have a problem spending a little more for a product that works as well as this one does. It certainly will save money in the long run even at its normal price point considering it really does such an exceptional job of clumping thus making the litter last longer even at just 4 pounds. When I was using crystals I always chose to use 8 pounds at a time. I do not think that is entirely necessary with this brand. However, my plan is to continue to add more litter about once every few weeks to help keep the box as clean as possible and continuously at about the same level. As long as we scoop daily this should not be a problem. I hope all this information helps someone else on a budget debating whether it is worth it to try this stuff. As someone on a fixed income, but loves kitties myself sometimes choosing the right kitty litter can be a real pain. Try this you will not regret it, and you will save money in the long run. Best!

This has to be the worst tracking litter I have ever used, and I think as a cat breeder, I’ve tried almost everything at least once. I thought this would be really cool litter. Neat colors, plus clumping - I love litter pearls - so I like silica - great on odor. But this is FINE sand. Even finer than crushed silica litter. Then it’s colored. So the fine sand gets heavily tracked, and you have bright colored sand everywhere! What a total mess. I tried using a box of it at a cat show, I thought how cool, the litter will match my cats drapes. Well, I had pink litter sand/dust I was having to comb from all over my cats throughout the day. Never again! Another total mess. Also, the clumping factor is like other clumping litters - turns to stone in the bottom of the box - you must practically chisel from the corners, even when keeping the box 4 inches full as the directions state. This litter is also very expensive.

Great, clumping action… Actually turned into a gel. Kind of sketchy. And it does absolutely nothing for odor. Not worth it. Plus my cat doesn’t love it.

Love the color, and it doesn't leave any residue on her paws to track around the house. I like thar the pea clumps as opposed to the other litter you stir amd suppose to let cat use for a month. Gross, no way. This also doesn't leave a powdery residue on anything either. I just wish it came in larger size. Feel like the price seems like It's gone up,hopefully goes back down and I'll keep with this brand.

Worst litter ever. Couldn’t scoop it was like cement.

Even though I only have one little kitten, the smell of her waste was noticible after just coming near the litter box. We clean it daily so that shouldn't happen. The pricier brand we bought before this Neon stuff didn't smell until you were right next to the box and/ or cleaning it. At least there's no dust to breathe in.

This litter is amazing ! I have two cats, two litter boxes. Old litter in one, new Neon litter in the other. I scoop every other day. Well they are both using the Neon ! The other one compared to Neon? Well it just stinks !! I took this picture, gross I know, you’re welcome, to show something strange it all comes to the top. I have no idea why. But fine by me i guess it’s a perk ? Lol I read a review about the liquids if down too deep turn to cement like hard rock. That is true don’t make the litter too shallow because there is some serious clumping going on. It literally has no smell none zero. My cats looked at it but did not hesitate and jumped on in. Some crystal litter after a scooping or two, it starts turning into this disgusting slushie mix… sorry that made me gag. This one ? Nope big time clumping until the end. You just scoop until the litter is low then add more ! We owe it to them to keep it fresh don’t we ? They’re already doing us a favor by going in this box instead of all over the house, the least we can do is make it as pleasant as possible right? # I’llNeverGoBack

Best cat litter I have used yet. Tried to get a different cat litter and ended up coming right back to this one fun pretty, my cats prefer this brand, and in general works better the litter clumps perfectly.

This product is way better than other cat litter I have tried. Recently I adopted an intact male Siamese cat. When we brought him home, the previous owner gave us the his old cat litter along. I think it’s a good idea for him to have familiar scents to the new home. It was the same product that I had been using in the past for my other cat. The smell was terrible and yet he did not spray. His urine in his litter box made the room smells like I’m an old crazy cat lady. So I switched. I used this product mixed with scoop away silica. It was magical. The strong urine smell is gone. The combination made the urine and poop dried out so I can easily scoop and strain and nothing else was thrown out other than the clumping urine and dried out poop. I am aware that the price is costly but it last longer and no odor? What a marvellous idea.

30 dollars for this? This bag is ridiculously small..and only half full at that...shrink-flation is real. This is crazy. Will be returning. 😒😡

Smells less bad, no dust, my cat likes to play in it and gets it everywhere.
