My Thirsty Cherry Tree is Thriving again!
This past summer we have suffered through unprecedented drought conditions. My young cherry tree was stressing. I didn't wish to stand next to the tree daily to water with a hose mainly due to water run-off. After so much watering, the water would run away. This is an issue for our clay-soils of Maryland. I bought 2 of these bags, enveloped my tree, filled 'em up, and voila! Slow watering at it's best! Maximum use of expensive water. The bags are heavy duty equipped with strong zippers to connect more than one bag. You fill the bag into the hole hidden under the product tag, which flips up. I'm excited to find a method of controlled watering. Great product. By the way, I did read reviews of retailers with cheaper knock-off versions... just remember, you get what you pay for.

Go with the treegator and nothing else
Yes, the treegator is a little more than the generic companies, but I can tell you that this is very easy to put around a tree and it is a slow release and does hold a lot of water. It works great. The only problem i have ever had with this is if the mulch gets stuck buy the holes, than it will drain all the way. I would assume this would happen to all brands. It is very easy to fix that. Lift it up, and rotate the bag. I have used this for multiple seasons and it works great.

Works flawlessly
The first bag I ordered had to be returned as it did not drain properly after following all instructions and suggestions. I ordered a second one and it has been working flawlessly for more than two months. Sturdy material and zipper, easy to clean and store between used. I would purchase again as the price is right and good quality.

Very convenient
Quality material and work great! Installed new palms and they were browning from not enough water. Fill up and they slowly water so the water gets absorbed into roots rather than fast watering that diverts away.**NEED 2 if you have larger trunks see description**Would have given 5 stars only because they are a little pricy

Do be careful about getting dirt inside the bag
We lost a newly planted tree a couple of years ago because we just struggled to keep it watered well through a hot summer. Last fall we planted a new one, about 7 feet tall, and bought this bag for watering. It's so easy to fill within a couple of minutes and walk away. We did this 3 times a week throughout one of the hottest summers Austin has ever had, and the tree continued to put on new growth. Well worth every penny! Do keep in mind that the weep holes are small and clean off your hose well before pushing it into the bag.

My trees look beautiful! I love these bags.
I have at least six of these bags now, and absolutely love them. When I planted my first trees a few years ago, I was following an excruciating schedule from the nursery -- the trees were establishing themselves nicely, but the daily, measured waterings were a real chore, especially when I had to leave town for a few days.Having seen the green bags on city trees all around town, I decided to give them a try. At first I tried the Treegator Junior bag, but had problems with holes developing and found it awkward to fill. Next I got one of these, and haven't looked back! The bag is extremely easy to fill -- you can just stick the hose in and walk away while it's working. The material is very sturdy, and has held up well through several seasons. I was concerned that I would have problems with excessive moisture against the trunk from so much plastic being in contact, but it has not been an issue so far.And of course, the most important part: it does a really good job of watering trees. Every tree I've used this on has taken beautifully, and is far leafier and maturing faster than nearby trees that were planted at the same time.My only complaint is that the weeping holes (through which the water drips into the root zone) do get clogged easily. The best way to avoid this seems to be tugging on the bag when it's about 1/4 full (as the manufacturer recommends) -- but also, making sure to keep a clean layer of mulch beneath it. As mulch breaks down and it gets closer to the dirt, it's much easier for the bag to become clogged. If you keep a layer of mulch that drains into the soil below, it should do much better. If you're planting a new tree, starting it off with a Treegator is essential. I also gave one to my sister, and she was able to revive a tree planted ~3 years ago that was struggling.

Saving our trees….easy watering.
Recently moved into a newly built townhouse. The landscaper for the company planted the trees but never returned to water. Hopefully these will help to save the trees. Easy to put on, zip up and fill. Strong bag material. Told my son-in-law who purchased 10 bags.Would like to see gator bag makes something to lay in the flower beds in stead of drip hoses.

Gater watering bags
These are great. Really tough. Just have to stay away from them with the mower and weed eater.

Slightly expensive but very effective
A number of new and expensive trees were planted, and as with most of these it is important to keep them well watered in the first two years or so. There are a number of different brands, but reviews suggest that the rate of water release with some of them left something to be desired. In this case, they worked perfectly, releasing their full load over say half a day. Interesting to note that the gardeners which maintain a large number of recently planted trees nearby have used this brand. Possibly more expensive that some others, but well made and does the job intended. Thoroughly recommended.

Sturdy looking item
Unfortunately had to return as they were not suitable for newly planted trees with leaves near the ground. No issues with returning them. I would definitely buy again if or when the need arises
