Breville Curve Electric Kettle , 1.7 Litre , 3KW Fast Boil , Grey and Chrome [VKT227]

I am giving this a low grade as the one we initially received leaked and was faulty.As it came to us, we are living in the UAE from the UK, we had to wait.However, when I spoke with Amazon, great customer service and the product was replaced. The new kettle is working fine.

I got the kettle and toaster set. It looks nice and works well, however I think with it being made of plastic I think it could be better built, and not feel so cheap as it does with everything being plastic. I would hope the plastic has been manufactured so no heat degradation cause any chemical leaking into the water. The toaster also has its flaws, doesn’t toast perfectly and you have to use the right side before you begin to use the left almost like it’s a safety feature but it does get quite annoying. Anyway, it’s ok, not brilliant, doesn’t blow me away but does work well so far.

Nice design. Quieter than my last kettle. Rapid boil. Pleased so far and would recommend it. It does take a couple of boils to get rid of smell just like any new kettle. I find emptying it of water after every use and of a night helps.

My mum had one of these in cream for years which just began to leak so wanted another the same. I hated it as I always found it WAY too heavy. I persuaded her to at least try a different colour and we got the grey. I personally think they're overpriced but I guess if it lasts as long as the previous one it is good. I like it way more than the old one as I think it is lighter. Mum hasn't noticed the difference but I think it is way lighter. We did like the navy blue but, bizarrely, they added gold bits to that and not silver so we passed on that. I think it looks awful with gold hardware. Can't think why they did that on just the one colour, or why they didn't do all colours with a choice. It looks way nicer in the grey than the cream, I think.

The colours was nice and light, afrer a couple of months the switch was playing up then I touched tge kettle and it gave me a an electric shock. It was outside the return window so I reported it to breville and they completely ignored me. They don't care an kettle giving an electric shock to a wheelchair user with heart problems. They took my money and run. I will never buy breville again
