An Honest Opinion
I bought this recently because I was having problems getting in certain channels and wanted to get in the weak ones, plus make the ones that I got in stronger. After reading reviews on this brand, I decided to get it.Pros: It does make the channels that you already get in stronger, which I think is worth the money spent on this thing. After unhooking the antenna, turning off the converter box and letting it sit for a minute, then turning it back on and re-scanning again, I was able to get the channels I missed on my TV again. The amp made them stronger and easier to watch. Instead of four channels (sometimes seven when the weather is cooperating), I now get 11 channels. (In my area, we are supposed to get fourteen)I can use this amp with a philips/Magnavox pair of indoor rabbit ears with the vhf/uhf turn dial thing. My converter box is also a magnavox.Cheaper to buy through a vendor here on amazon, instead of going to a high priced electronics store and buying it there.I don't have to call the cable company, become a subscriber (slave) to basic cable and shell out cash for the box, the monthly service and the fees. (Go ahead and call me a Scrooge, but I don't have the money for that stuff)Cons: You have to pay the plug flat down or it's side. Also recommended:Be sure to get a longer cord and connectors so you can take the rabbit ears into any room of the house. I can get hard to find channels if I place my indoor rabbit ears near the window.Check out places like Antenna web for what you can get in and how to position them. It's free to use.You may have to use tin foil for the tops of the "ears" of the antenna.Keep the Rabbit ears away from computers and electronics. These interfere with the strength of the signal.Unhook the antenna, re-scan the converter box without the antenna hooked up, then turn off the box and let it for a minute or two. Hook up the antenna, turn on the box and rescan for channels. Sometimes, your box will lose the information from one or more channels, so that is why you re-scan. Extend the rods for channels 2-6, do not extend the rods for channel 7 and above.A highly recommended buy for the serious tv viewer who doesn't want to pay high prices for cable tv.

Better thatn expected for here in new jersey
I bought this to boost HomeWorx HDTV Digital Flat Antenna UHF / VHF (HW110AN) signal, also bought here at amazon for approx ten dollars. With just the antenna I received the signals but at times they were choppy. So I bought this one to boosts the signal after reading several reviews. It boosts UHF channels - cbs 2, nbc 4, fox 5, my 9, and a few other 10 channels just fine. It totally stopped receiving abc channel 7 here in NJ. Learnt from other website that abc 7 is broadcast as VHF and not UHF and hence the booster causes problems enhancing them and drops the signal compeletly. Other than this hiccup, the channels that I do received are very very clear better than the SD channels that I used to receive from cable TV here from comcast. Now that I have switched over I do not have to spend twenty dollar a month + tax for what should be free channels telecast thru air waves.updated : 2/6/2014I have up'd the review by 1 more star.I disconnected the connections and reconnected the antenna with the amplifier again and find that the signals i.e. channel no 7 abc that I had stopped receiving started receiving again and was crystal clear.cons:Just wished that there would have been an hdmi or a video output other than a coaxial output. Also did not find an on/off switch on the device nor a remote to switch on or off, not sure how much power it consumes when connected to power outlet and when TV is not in use.

Another bad and or cheap TV amplifier...
The media could not be loaded. It was easy to install. The build quality was great. No channels came in. The cable length was pretty decent. But after running channel scan on camera and off camera still nothing. Seems like a great product but did not pulling channels from 10 miles away.

Marginally helped
I bought this amp for use with the Leaf Indoor antenna. While it helped with reception, it did not help with getting any new channels. I'm now looking for a amplified splitter, in order to get rid of the extra cabling and loss. I currently have this amp connected to my digital converter box and to a digital splitter, which my rabbit ears and Leaf are connected to.Update: I've since purchased PCTs 1 & 2-Port Passive Amp. The 2-Port Amp worked like a champ and I returned this item. Don't bother with PCT's mini 1-Port Amp. It doesn't have as much power, compared to their well built 2-Port.

Cost effective TV Antenna Booster will solve many problems with occasional pixelation
I give it five stars because it works well considering its reasonable price. I had the same model in a previous home with many TVs and it was still working fine years later until we moved. Here is the deal. Considering the cost, if you have channels that are coming in pixalated occasionally this booster will solve that problem. If your TV picks up a channel but you cant view it, it MAY solved the problem too. Even though it is possible do not expect it to find channels that your TV never had. That is a tall order for any booster and is more indicative of an improper antenna. This is a well priced booster but do not expect miracles. It will fix many weak signal issues assuming you already are able to receive the channel.
