Ultimate 2018 US Military MRE Complete Meal Inspection Date January 2018 or Newer (Beef Stew)

We used these meals for our hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The meals were really good and filling. Each of us were able to pick the flavor we liked the best. We enjoyed the ease of how they warmed up and all of the goodies that were packed in each meal. The package was listed as "2.5 servings per bag" but we were so hungry that each of us ate the entire entree in one sitting and then used the additional snacks later in the evening and into the next day's hike. The meals are packaged to be resistant to rodents and bugs, they can be packed into "checked" baggage but due to the heating materials, they cannot be taken onto a plane in carry-on luggage.

This is the 1st MRE I've ever purchased. I had no idea what to expect. I went with beef stew and wasn't disappointed. Everything was delicious, very much worth the money. I plan on buying another.

Came earlier than expected! Item perfect condition and as described.

Grabbed a beef stew of course. Everything was intact and fine. Will most likely buy again if I want a specific menu. FRH was a dud but that’s my luck.

I purchased this as a potential emergency ration, and I'm sure they'd do just fine for that specific use case. However, I was also hoping to use them occasionally during normal times, but I don't think I would. The ingredients used to make these meals is not the best, lots of corn syrup, partially hydrogenated fats, artificial colors, processed carbs, etc. Not particularly healthy, especially if you are diabetic or hypoglycemic, which I am. I think I may be able to eat the main course, which in my case was a Mexican chicken stew, but none of the other sides, crackers, pretzels, and drinks. Even the peanut butter was sugar laden. I guess I could buy these as last ditch food insurance, they do have a very long shelf life, and everything is ready to eat, but I'm not yet at that stage of apocalypse planning. I was just hoping for something a little more high quality with respect to ingredients.

These MREs don't heat up like the ones from the military, It was basically a lukewarm meal. Other than that everything was edible and it served its purpose of being an educational demonstration.

Product as described. I would recommend paying the extra couple dollars for the beef stew or beef ravioli for your first time.
