The reason is that there are many individuals who are selling used drives with 'New' labels and fake packaging. In some cases Amazon will not return your product and then you are stuck. Good speed, ok. My old hard drive failed on bad power supply, realised it later. don't know how durable new one is but till now it's working fine even with heavy load.

Extremely Disappointed with WD and Amazon – Received Altered Product, No Resolution I purchased a WD 2TB hard disk for ₹5600, expecting the quality and reliability associated with a reputed brand like Western Digital, and the trust that comes with buying from Amazon. What I received was a complete disaster: • The product arrived in only a plastic cover, with no proper packaging. • Upon connecting it to my system, it caused system hang-ups. • Attempts to recover or access data through software were completely unsuccessful. When I contacted WD for replacement, they outright refused, claiming that it was an "altered product" and said it cannot be covered under warranty or replaced. Their suggestion? “Contact the seller where you bought it from.” So I turned to Amazon, expecting at least some accountability. Shockingly, Amazon also refused to help, stating that since WD has marked it as altered, they can't proceed either. This is an absurd loop of blame-shifting where neither party is taking responsibility. Let me be very clear: • It’s 2 time used (connected to System), 1st time for data copying and 2nd time for data recovery and both failed. "Since the data wasn’t important, I didn’t attempt recovery. • I bought a new product, not a tampered or used item. • I trusted Amazon's platform and WD’s brand name, both of which have completely failed me. • The customer is left helpless, with zero support, no replacement, and no refund for a defective product that never worked. • Product is under warranty period. This experience reflects a serious lapse in quality control, poor customer service, and a lack of accountability from both WD and Amazon. If even big names like these can't ensure genuine products and proper after-sales support, then what exactly are we paying a premium for? I strongly caution others to double-check everything and think twice before trusting either brand with your hard-earned money. The so-called “warranty” is nothing but a scam. It’s just a marketing gimmick with no real support when you actually need it. Please don’t buy product which comes with product packing. I never expected to receive any product like this. I had earned that money through hard work, and after this terrible experience, I had no choice so purchased a new Toshiba Drive 2 TB from MD Computers with help of friend’s credit card.

Exceptionally faster when applied tweaks. Worth it! Please check if your gig support features, otherwise it will be under used

Orders 2 for a home server setup. Value for money. Can get the same speed as SSD. 1 disk failed within a year. Don't know my error or what. Was messing around with telnet.

i got this for less than 4500 bucks which is really a good buy. this is a very fast HDD with 7200 rpm. this is as fast as they get. i have my windows installed on SSD and bought this as secondary and this is a good option for keeping data safe. But this is a very fast drive managed to transfer 200 Gb of data mostly photos and vids to this from another drive in less than 80 mins. don't know about long term but this much storage at this price no one should miss!!

Product is working fine, I just surprised of packaging quality. As there was no outer monocarton or Box for product description or branding it was just a box for transit.

Compré este disco de WD para sustituir otro de menor capacidad en mi Pc y usarlo como almacén de fotos y archivos personales. Por su precio y capacidad era lo mejor que podía conseguir. Como disco de arranque tengo un SSD de WD también así que no necesitaba un SSD. Es de 2Tb de capacidad 7200rpm y cache de 256Mb lo que le da una velocidad muy interesante a pesar de ser un disco mecánico, además muy silencioso y velocidad Sata 3 6Gs/s. Tras unos meses funcionando correctamente me dió problemas al arrancar (fallaba el "spin on") y le costaba arrancar. Otras veces arrancaba bien, pero bien en reposo, bien en uso daba el error aleatoriamente. Me puse en contacto con el vendedor (B2M Zone) y rapidamente se pusieron en contacto conmigo. En unos días me sustituyeron el disco por otro completamente nuevo sin poner ninguna pega. Totalmente satisfecho con la atención. Una vez cambiado el disco, ha funcionado sin problema. Espero que haya sido mala suerte y me ha tocado uno con defecto de fabricación. Es raro porque llevo muchos años (mas de 20) utilizando discos de esta marca y salvo uno (por años de uso y bastante intensivo) no me han dado problemas. Si tienes la suerte (como yo) de que esté en garantía pides el cambio. Los datos es otro cantar...

Es un buen producto por su funcionalidad. Mucho se dice del ruido, a mi experiencia personal, en si los discos duros hacen algunos ruidos comunes de lectura, escritura, etc. Este en particular se mantiene en un nivel común medio/bajo, y en 3 meses de uso, no ha generado más ruido del regular. Por funcionalidad esta muy bien, es lo que se espera en velocidades de un disco duro, yo tengo la versión de 7200rpm y no hay ninguna queja. En cuanto a relación calidad precio, es un buen producto.

I have SSDs and wanted to change one of my internal 1 TB SSD to 2 TB, then I saw this 2 TD HDD from WD for way less than an equivalent size SSD. So I bought it, you cannot hear it spinning in your case, it does its thing and I hardly noticed any speed difference when writing files to it, versus doing the same on an SSD. I used Macrium Reflect to Clone my old 1 TB to this WD 2 TB (Macrium adjusts for the bigger drive) I put it in my case and I didn't notice a bit of difference. Yes I know, it is a Hard Drive, but it works for me and I haven't notice ANY difference. I have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 running on this new hard drive and it still is giving me 75 frames per second on higher settings - which is the same as my SSD was giving me. The game loading may be 10 seconds longer - no big deal to the majority of users.
