If you want crystal clear water you definitely need to add in chemical media to your filtration! I run a Fluval FX4 canister on my 75G South American Cichlid tank and my water looks super clear (as seen by the photos). Compared to Seachem Purigen, CPB (Chemi-pure Blue) is a more all-in-one chemical media package. CPB removes Phosphates, stabilizes ph, supposedly also increases fish appetite? I haven't really noticed this but that will depend on their diet and how much they enjoy what you feed them and ingredients. And finally it makes the water crystal clear! I added in Purigen just to help out as I do have driftwood in my tank and it's really just that extra hand to help keep the water clean for a while until it's time to swap out the chemical media. I will rate value a 4/5 as it can be a bit pricey but the results are still incredible. So good that even my biggest Electric Blue Acara named Bolt (right next to me holding the product) approves! as well as all the others!

I've been in the reef hobby for 10 years and this is one best products I've come across. My original reef tank is still running and I have a Onxy Clown fish nearly a decade old. I absolutely love this product! You can expect crystal clear water, less algae though this shouldn't be a product you depend on to remove nitrates or phosphates as you would go broke. This is a product to remove chemicals toxins released by corals and to achieve a clearer water column in our reef tanks its chemical warfare between corals! In a typical tank with a low bio load you'll get about 6-8 weeks use out of one of these max. If you have a fully stocked tank depending on the size maybe a month. My only grip is the price and I do wish these were less expensive but this an expensive hobby so I wont fault an otherwise excellent product though if the price went up any further I would in the camp looking at alternatives. Recently changed aquarium to a cichlid community and am amazed at how well and quickly adding this media to my cannister filter CLEARED THE WATER! It went from a constant yellow color (even with regular water changes) to crystal clear in just a day. Fish seem very happy. Highly recommend!

Using this stuff in my solana in the media basket made by inTank that I bought from amazon. Hope this stuff lives up to the reviews that I have read. Will update the review in a few day to a week . Here is an up date, have had problems with the alkalinity in my tank fluctuating from 7 to 8 to 9 on average. Using the BRS 2 part to keep things happy. For the last 3 days, alk and ph have been very stable. Alk is staying at 8.4 to 8.6 and ph during the day is 8.1 and staying pretty stable. Water clarity is excellent. With the regular water changes and dosing of the two part, the tank is really starting to take off! All the corals and fish are in excellent health. This stuff I'd not a magic cure all for your reef tank, but it helps get things under control.

I have been in the hobby for long time and so far this is the best media I’ve ever used in my tanks.i am in love with this media,it makes the water crystal clear and my tanks are very healthy.i use this media all of my tanks.water perimeter is perfect all the time.only problem is,it’s little bit of expensive.

This was recommended to me by a local store but they did not have this particular chemi-pure so I purchased it here for less that what it would have been there. It comes in a bag already and is ready to rinse and add which is awesome as I do not have buy a mesh bag or measure. My nitrates went a bit crazy for some reason and I needed to get it back under control so I did the other steps needed and bought this. It says it will last 4 months and if it does then that will be a great thing. My water is good now though I cannot be truly sure how much of that is due to this because I also cleaned and upgraded tank size. But I am sure that this has helped out. I will be buying another for my reef as this seems to be helping in my swim tank. I hope that it continues to be helpful and I can rely on it as then I will use it every few months as instructed cutting down on the guesswork. I would recommend this product.

This is an outstanding product that has significantly impacted the clarity of the water. It’s also a great value since the cost is low and one unit lasts for months. Easy to use, just rinse and throw the bag it is packed in into the filter. Absolutely recommend, and as the YouTube channel Kaveman Aquatics says, this is a big reason why my water looks good.

Regular user of chemi pure blue. Fits well in the external filter basket. Within a few hours a difference is noted. By the next day the water is crystal clear. Removes any tannings etc and water smells good. Fish always seem happier after a fresh bag inserted. It is said to use bleach to restore the bag and use again etc. I tried it once, didn’t like the idea of putting it back in even once rinsed. So I bought another chemo pure blue. Rather a few quid here and there than poison my tank. Chemo pure for the win!
