I love the ingredients and itโs worth it because he loves it!
I had this left over from a dog that stopped eating. She passed away. I was able to get a miniature dachshund. Well I tried quite a few of the freeze dried foods because there were great sales. He didnโt love hardly any. I settled on Dr Martyโs he ate that best. Well like I said I had this left in my cabinet and figured Iโd put one nugget on his regular food just to not waste it. I started noticing that he was picking the torn up primal out first then coming later and eat the other food! Heโs a little picky. I noticed he was doing that every day. So Iโm buying what he really loves. He likes Dr Martyโs but he loves Primal. All quality food is a bit on the expensive end but if you want a healthy dog you have to put the work into every aspect of keeping him healthy. You wouldnโt feed yourself junk all the time then be surprised when your cholesterol, and everything else is high. Itโs worth it.

Dog loves this!
Have tried so many different kibble options at food store. Always tried to pick the high quality and/or grain free. Sometimes dog would like it but there would always be periods of time where food was left in bowl for 1/2 the day. Dog has always had gas that would clear a room as well. Started feeding just this and it is wonderful. The gas is gone and he loves it. He starts jumping when he sees us putting it in the bowl and it is gone in about 30 seconds. He then goes back to his bowl periodically to nudge it looking for more. I was worried that he might be hungry but he doesn't seem to scrounge around the house looking for food dropped by my kids anymore than usual (is still a dog after all) and I have never heard stomach growling or seen him look uncomfortable. I think he just REALLY loves it. We have tried the duck and lamb but I like how the chicken is usually a couple of dollars cheaper and it also crumbles easier when we prepare it. Now for the bad part. This stuff is CRAZY expensive to be the only food. My dog is a 15-20 pound yorkipoo so I give him 4 pieces twice a day. At $20plus a bag we go through it much faster than I would like. I can't even imagine if I had a bigger dog. My mother-in-law sees how much he loves the food and asked about it for her English Setter. We both agreed it would be way too expensive to be a sole food source for that size dog. We continue to use because we like not having to leave the room due to the dog's gas but I wonder how long I will be willing to pay this much before trying something else (honestly-probably a long time--his gas was really bad!!)

Excellent Food with Important Disclaimers!!!
I have a 10 lb. mini dachshund who has sensitivities to all of the commonly available pet store foods. I tried every brand, including those that are grain free, special diets, premium brands, etc. No matter what I gave her, she vomited EVERY day. She also had flaky dry skin and terrible dermatitis all along the edges of her ears. The only thing that helped was when the vet prescribed a daily dose of Pepcid AC. If she missed even one dose the vomiting returned. Given the fact that being on continual antacid drugs causes nutritional malabsorption, I was eager to find a way to get her off of that drug! In desperation I decided to try her on a raw meat diet. I began with a frozen prepared raw chicken dog food. I was so thankful that it worked! Eventually I tried the Primal brand frozen raw chicken formula, and that was the best: no tummy troubles, great skin and coat, and her dermatitis totally cleared up, HURRAY! When I discovered the Primal brand freeze-dried chicken formula I gave it a try and it seems nearly as good for her as the frozen (I think I am detecting a slight return of her dermatitis). BUT there are some important caveats: 1) The feeding guidelines on the packaging are grossly inaccurate (I found the same to be true with their frozen formula)! My little dog is less active than average. According to the package I should be feeding her 4 nuggets per day. In fact she needs *7* nuggets a day to maintain a trim, healthy weight. When I initially fed her according to Primal's guidelines she became emaciated (ribs and spine protruding)! 2) It is VERY EXPENSIVE! (Especially when you may need to feed nearly twice the amount suggested on the package!) I cannot imagine trying to feed this to any dog over 10 lbs. the 14 oz package lasts about a week. 3) It can be difficult to find--even online. So a back-stock at home is a must! Also good to know: The nuggets are too big and dry for my little dachsie to eat right out of the package. If you just pour water on them (even hot tap water) they do not absorb much, no matter how long it sits. They crumble quite easily, though, so I crumble them up and then add water to make a kind of porridge consistency. Since my dog is so sensitive to other foods, I am able to use small pieces of the nuggets as treats for her, which is a big advantage over the frozen version.

Only thing she will eat!
This is the only good (for dogs!๐คญ) that my cavachon has eaten for years. Every thing else I tried she tolerated for about a week only - even homemade! I crush the cubes in my blender, then mix with a little warm water and top off with a few small spoons of cooked ground chicken! Never fails!

Beware
Disappointed in this. Iโve been using this for a while now for my shipoo. Although this week he started acting like he was choking every time he ate. He refused to eat for 2 days. Then one day I rehydrated it and broke it up with my hand and found there were super hard chunks in there. They looked like small pieces of bone that had been grated. I was so mad that I had been giving this to my dog. Iโve been a long time customer, but no more. Not sure if it was just one bad batch, but itโs not worth taking the risk

Love this dog food
Love this dog food, just wish it wasn't so expensive. I can only use as a supplement to dry food because it is so costly.
