Columbian Clasp Envelopes, 9 x 12 Inches, Brown Kraft, 100 Per Box (CO790)

I have to admit that I am the frugal type especially with home office supplies. As long as it gets the job done, I am all for it. I also love to organize. Have been using clasp envelopes from Walmart, Staples, Target and even the 99 cents store for a while until my batch ran out and checked at Amazon.com... Lo and behold, they have clasp envelopes! Why am I not surprised? :P They are definitely at par (thick) with the major brands and way cheaper than the 99 cents stores. Been using this to mail and store documents and other paper works. It doesn't have the self adhesive tape, but the normal "sticky film" so you need to wet it to make it stick. I am not really into licking envelope flaps. I find it disgusting. Settle with water or glue it, people! :)

Very nice envelopes. I am happy with this product and I plan to buy more very soon. I am always filing paperwork and creating extra work for myself so I decided to buy bulk and get these envelopes. Good envelopes for mailing my artwork. The description said "brown kraft" but the picture is more like a standard manilla-type envelope - so I was a little confused. Wish they were the darker brown true kraft paper. I like that look and it suits my artwork style. However, given the nature of an envelope (to mail), these are great! The glue works well, the clasp does too, and they are pretty sturdy. I always pack my art with a cardboard backing to thwart fold-happy post office workers, anyway.

No wonder these envelopes are among the bestselling items on Amazon. These are a staple no home or business office should be without. I use them not only for mailing purposes but to label and store each year's financial documents labelled on the outside of the envelope. We also use them in our church's financial office, for our weekly deposit documentation. These envelopes are a very handy size to use for historical files because they can be closed and opened easily via the clasp as opposed to utilizing the sealant, plus they perfectly fit within the banker's boxes we use for storage. We order these frequently and they never disappoint.

I always buy Columbian products. Very useful but the clasp is a bit weak and thin. The gummed label seems to be fine. When ordering this style of clasp envelope check the size and see if it's the outside measurement. That will tell you the actual size that can fit in it. Remember that the smaller measurement ones won't allow for bulky items. Other than that, this should work for you. I've never had a 'perfect' clasp envelope but I like these. Cheaper when bought in bulk. Not waterproof if you need to know.

This was my first time ordering 9X12 envelopes. Usually I order 10X13 or 12X15. I really like this size.Sometimes I have a few pieces of paper to mail that need to stay flat, and don't want to use a big envelope for 2 pieces of paper. My complaint is, they don't stick closed when licked. It wasn't just one or two in the pack either. Every single envelope I've tried to lick shut wont stick closed. That's the downfall. If you don't mind closing the mail by clasp only or with a piece of tape, these are for you. If want the comfort of knowing mail will definitely be private and SEALED closed, order a different brand.

The product is as described. My wife and I don’t use these for mail, we actually use these to hold user manuals/instructions and receipts of purchases. We copy purchase place and date on the front along with any other pertinent information on the contents of the envelope. We file them in a plastic tub to keep them in order. I write all this to demonstrate that these are good for more than just mailing envelopes.

A good value, these envelopes see general use around the office. We stuff them with sales materials (we have to be discreet) and other businessy items. They've proved themselves to be strong, take ink and labels well. You can find cheaper; but, they are just that... cheaper.
