Simple, Clean, and Beautiful - Perfect Piano
We got this for our 6 year old son to learn how to plan piano. We wanted something that looks great with our decor as well. We love the look! As for the feel, we wanted a full size keyboard that felt as close to a real piano as possible. The key pressure is firm like a real piano. The petal also feels firm and its heavy so it doesn't move around. The speaker is adjustable with a dial in the back. Easy for my son to adjust and turn on. What sold us is the simplicity. We didn't want a keyboard that could play all different types of noises that our kids would mess with and make them lose focus of what this thing does. It just plays regular piano sounds, which is great for anyone serious about playing music.

Pretty darn good!
Pleasantly surprised! First off, I’m a hobbyist - piano isn’t my main instrument, but I’ve played off and on for ~20 years…so you can take my review or leave it. Basically, I moved and was going to get another acoustic piano, but decided to try this one. I think it’s pretty suitable as a near-replacement for acoustic. - Weight/feel: pretty darn good! The keys feel a heck of a lot better than the spinet piano I used to have. If anything, the weight is on the heavier side overall. Bass keys are weighted heavier and treble keys are lighter, just like on an acoustic piano. Overall, the feel is great and I’m super satisfied in this area. - Sensitivity: Good! You can really get a lot of dynamic range depending on how hard you press a key. I’ve been mostly playing ragtime and boogie woogie but a little softer stuff as well, and it’s satisfactory across the board, at least for me. - Sound/sample: Not bad - it sounds pretty okay for the most part. For some reason I find the half-octave or so above middle C to sound a little more artificial than the rest of the piano, but overall it’s not bad. It may be the speakers rather than the sample, I don’t know. But you know what? It’s a $500 digital piano. It doesn’t sound like a $1,500 digital piano and you shouldn’t expect it to. But it’s really not bad. - Effects: Nope, that’s not this piano’s bag. It just sounds like a piano. If you’re into that and are thinking about this as an alternative to an acoustic piano, then you’ll probably like this one. But you could always use it as a midi controller with a DAW if you want more sounds. - Look: Yeah, I know it’s been said, but I think they should get points for making it something other than a black rectangle. It really does look nice, but whether that matters to you is your thing. If it looked nice but played and sounded like trash, then looking nice wouldn’t matter to me - it would still be trash. Fortunately, this is a digital piano that feels great and sounds pretty good, and looking cool is just icing on the cake. - Durability: ?? I’ve only had mine for a few weeks at the time of this review. If it stops working at some point I’ll update this review. So, there it is. I think it’s pretty darn good for the price and I would genuinely recommend it. I pinky swear that I’m not a bot and I paid for this piano myself, I am not a figment of your imagination, this review is not a paid advertisement, this review is not brought to you in four parts without commercial interruptions, the revolution will not be televised, will not be televised, will not be televised.

Company stands by their product-refreshing!
I have been wanting a piano for a while, but had limited space and funds. This lovely little piano takes up only the the room it needs, without sacrificing that full keyboard feel. It is as close to an acoustic sound and responsiveness as I have found in a digital piano. For me, a recreational player, I love that it is relatively light weight (especially compared to an acoustic!) and that I can move it myself, enjoying playing and not worry about it going out of tune. The appearance is lovely, and fits in well with the room and furniture. It was easy to put together myself. I love that it doesn't have all the 'bells and whistles' of other digital pianos, because I really just wanted a Piano and that is what this is-A Piano. It just happens to be electric instead of acoustic. Perfect for my needs! I am delighted with the piano-Even more so with the Customer Service at Donnor. The piano I received, unfortunately came with a faulty pedal ( The middle pedal didnt work, the other two did) I immediately contacted Donnor Customer service through the link provided by Amazon -but you can also contact them directly from their website as well. ( I did NOT turn to Amazon returns-they are growing ever more frustrating to deal with). A representative at Donnor answered me back within a few days. The initial response took a bit longer than I was led to believe but once I was in contact they were great! I explained the issue and they -without hesitation or questions-, shipped me a new pedal system right away. It arrived well within the expected time and it worked right out of the box. I give the Five stars because the piano is exactly what I wanted And they stand by their product. They actually seem to care about their customers-a rarity in this world. I would recommend this piano to anyone looking for a sturdy, playable, and pretty piano.

Incredible piano - and not just for beginners!
After a recent move, I was looking for a new digital piano. I'm an intermediate/advanced player. Previously, I had a $900 Privia and was overall very satisfied with that, and was skeptical about this one because it is so much more affordable. I have to say, I like the Donner DDP-80 even more, for hundreds less than the Privia. PROS: - Weighted keys feel better than any other keyboard I've ever played - they have that heft/weight to them that most digital pianos lack. - Sound quality - it's just a beautiful sounding instrument. I usually play with headphones, but the times I've played out loud with the built in speakers, it has also sounded great. You get that "feel it in your chest" effect that usually only happens on the real thing. - Dynamics - holy moly, it really is like playing an acoustic piano - it is extremely responsive to touch and feels very natural. You can play very expressively. Also, the included 3-pedal works great (some older reviews mention the pedal didn't work upon arrival but they have since fixed whatever the issue was). - Easy to assemble - truly you just have to screw the legs on and tighten the music stand. Much easier than my last keyboard which had a bulky wooden console that took a long time to put together. Note that the legs are metal covered to look like wood grain - these are very sturdy legs. The piano doesn't move around at all when playing. - Aesthetics - not the most important thing by any means, but you have to admit it's just beautiful. It is exactly as pictured. CONS: - No bells & whistles - just one piano tone, no settings to fiddle with other than volume. I thought I might miss these features but I don't. If you just want to play piano, this is it. - No dust cover for the keys. Easy to fix with a scarf. Overall I'm just thrilled with this instrument! I was a little scared to buy from this company since they are newer and seem to exclusively sell online, but this particular model was a great purchase. And truly this isn't just for beginners - I think a piano player at any level would be impressed with the quality of this instrument.

Excellent choice for all levels of pianists!
I am writing this review in hopes to help a lot of you out in the position that I was in two months ago: hunting for a full 88-key digital keyboard that wasn't ridiculously expensive but most importantly, didn't compromise on the sound/quality. I will try to offer my full opinion without overwhelming you with a massive review, which I know from experience can be daunting! So here you go, please read and I sincerely hope you find this helpful in your "hunting"! First things first, I do truly love this keyboard and am overall extremely pleased with my purchase! Some of you may be wondering, "then why didn't you give it a 5-star rating"? I'm glad you asked! My reasoning is that I don't want to just give something a 5-star rating if I just really like it. I do my best to be reasonably critical so that when something truly knocks my socks off, I'll give it a 5-star and you'll know (if you ever encounter another review by me) that I believe that I'm talking about the best of the best. That being said, I would give this keyboard a 4.5/5 if that was an option. Also, I thought I should mention that I would consider myself to be an intermediate to advanced player so you can get a feel for my background and therefore "credibility". Music is definitely a strong passion of mine so take all of this as you will. Anyway, now that that's out of the way, let me go into some short but thorough detail about the pros and cons: PROS: - THE AESTHETIC is definitely 5-stars, especially for the price. As many others have commented, people are quick to complement the look of the keyboard. It truly is sleek, elegant, and well-made and I couldn't be happier with this aspect! The pedal color/texture doesn't match perfectly but it is not distracting at all or even all that noticeable unless you compare them side by side. I'd give this element a 5/5. - THE DYNAMICS are another one of my favorite things about this keyboard! There is a large range of volume while playing and the volume knob at the back works well too. You can play as quietly as snow falling or as loud as thunder crashing and you don't even have to adjust the volume knob at all. I personally think this is one of the best things going for this keyboard. Definitely a 5/5 for this element. - THE KEYS are great and are noticeably fully-weighted. A few others commented that the action was a little heavy for them and I agree. However, I don't feel that it is detrimental to the playing ability but it is definitely something you'll have to get used to. I haven't tried out many other full-sized keyboards but this one is definitely the heaviest action I've come across. Again, I want to maintain that this isn't a bad thing, just something to be aware of. I would probably give this element a 4/5 as I think the perfect action would be slightly lighter than what this keyboard offers. - THE SOUND overall is great and I'm really pleased with it! I know others have mentioned that only having the acoustic keyboard sound is a negative. Personally, I disagree since I was looking for something simple. I really wanted something for the acoustic piano sound and I'm a pianist, not a keyboard player if that makes sense. I feel like programming extra sounds would have increased the price of the keyboard so that's another reason why I'm very content with only the one sound. I do have some things I don't absolutely love about the sound which I'll touch on in the "CONS" section. I'd give the sound a 4.5/5. - THE ASSEMBLY was super easy! The weight of the keyboard was a bit more than I was expecting but definitely not unbearable and still would be relatively easy to mobilize, which is super nice. This is a 5/5 as well. THE CONS: Honestly there aren't many! The only two things that I can think of are the keys, which I think I've shared enough about, and the sound. THE SOUND is great like I said but is maybe a little muddier and darker than an acoustic piano, mainly in the mids. It's still good but not exceptional in my opinion as my acoustic piano sounds brighter and clearer. I wasn't expecting perfection so I'm not disappointed by a long shot, but I still retain possession of my socks if you know what I mean (see useless reference in the second paragraph). I should mention that I haven't played it yet while wearing headphones so there's a chance that that might improve the sound, especially if you have a good quality pair of headphones. IN SUMMARY, I do prefer playing on my acoustic piano simply for the sake of the traditionality of it and for the small critiques I mentioned in this review (the sound and action of the keys). BUT, and hear me when I say this, DO NOT let that deter you away from this keyboard! It is a really awesome product and I HIGHLY recommended it to all players of all levels! Botta bing, botta boom. That's that. Period. My intention was to create the clearest picture and description possible, which includes critiques, so that YOU can make a decision confidently. If you're reading this, congrats! You just met your reading goal for the week (945 words to be exact)! Anyway, I genuinely hope you have a wonderful day and God bless!

Great little piano at a great price!
I'm the typical older adult that regrets giving up piano lessons when I was a kid. So, I've recently started taking lessons again. I wanted a decent instrument to play on, not an "electronic-sounding" cheesy little keyboard, but something that would sound like a real piano and give you that same "touch" to the keys. I wanted to be sure I ENJOYED playing to keep me motivated, but not break the bank and make me feel guilty should I wind up quitting again. This piano sounds wonderful and is a dream to play. I love its more compact body, although it is a true-to-size keyboard, so it fits easily into my little office at home. It's "just" a no-nonsense piano: no buttons with synthesizer sounds, drums, strings, etc. Just an off/off button and a knob for volume. The pedals work OK ... your foot maybe sounds a little "sticky" when pressing down, but I'm a beginner and won't be using pedals for some time. I just wanted a straight forward piano with no "foo foo." It is a fair price for the quality -- about half of the fancier digital pianos that sound and feel pretty much the same. I am extremely please with my purchase and would buy it again. I've been using it now for about 5 months and have had no problems with it. Highly recommend!

Looks amazing but doesn't last long
I purchased this digital piano because it had the trendy look that I wanted and didn't take take up much room. It was easy to assemble and felt solid. The keys were nicely weighted and the sound was clear. I like that it doesnt have a bunch of buttons to distract my son. The power button always had a delay when turning on but it would work. My son used it to practice for his piano lesson on a daily basis (about 10 min each day). Unfortunately after 8 months it completely stopped having sound. The power still turns on (light shows it is getting power) but there is no sound no matter what we try. I emailed the company and they gave me a checklist of troubleshooting things to try (different power cord, holding power button down for 3 sec, checking volume is on, etc) but nothing they suggested worked. They did say they couldn't replace it and will refund us. I also reached out to a local digital piano repair company and asked them to look at it but because they arent familiar with this brand and arent able to get parts for it they didnt want to bother with it. Unfortunately, I've seen other reviewers state a similar problem, so I would recommend not going with this product even though it looks amazing, because losing sound after a few months use seems to be a pattern with it.

Well packaged, excellent quality
I have been looking for a realistic-like digital piano for some time. This one sounds and feels like my upright and is so much nicer than I expected! It is very well made and a lot sturdier than the pictures let on. I was half expecting the pedals to be plastic like and easily flung around - but even the pedals have some weight to them! The piano itself is a decent weight too - not to mention waaaaayyyyy nicer looking than most of the options out there. From the moment it arrived I was impressed. You can tell the manufacturer actually cares about their product based on the way it was prepared for shipping (see pictures). I was hesitant to buy at first based on other reviews (namely the ones that said half the keys don’t work). I’m so glad I went for it! All my keys work thankfully, it sounds and feels great and looks even better! For the money - you just can’t beat it!

Best purchase and beautifully packaged
Bought this piano because I wanted to get back into playing after many many years, and this surpassed my expectations. Simple to put together and it sounds great. The quality of the piano is very good and the weighted keys are brilliant, plus it comes with 3 pedals! No whistles and bells, just a straight forward electric piano. If you're looking for a piano that delivers great sound but isn't to expensive, then this one fits the bill.

beautiful, but it does not fully cover the keys
The design and sound are both beautiful and perfect. However, because the piano lid is straight rather than L-shaped, it does not fully cover the keys, leaving them slightly visible, which is a bit disappointing.
