Great rug .... just don't use a vacuum with a roller brush.
I love this rug. It is the perfect pattern and color combination, wonderful weave and yarn quality (love that little bit of wool in it), and it is quality constructed. Safavieh is my go-to rug company...you can always trust their attention to detail and excellent manufacturing and shipping standards. Several of the reviews I had read before finally pulling the trigger on this rug complained about shedding and fuzzy residue after a few weeks. So I turn off the roller brush on my vacuum when cleaning this rug, and only use the suction feature of the vacuum. I've had the rug for a couple of months so far, have vacuumed it regularly, and it looks and feels just like the day I rolled it out on my floor. I have two dogs who run through the area regularly, and see no wear from them, either. I would definitely buy this rug again, and am so glad I paid attention to the reviews on how to clean it properly.

Soft and beautiful, at first…
We’ve had this rug for about 4 months. When we first bought it I was THRILLED. It was beautiful, plush and soft under foot and was the perfect color with a subtle pattern. I saw the review about the excessive “shedding” and assumed it was a default in that one rug. All wool rugs shed for a while, right?! I am so incredibly disappointed with this rug, and the fact that we are already looking for a replacement. It isn’t “shedding” instead the actual fibers are completely unraveling and creating the look of a cloudy haze on top of the entire rug which looks terrible and makes it extremely hard to vacuum the fibers literally wrap about the roller head in the vacuum, things get stuck under the fuzz adding to the yuck. I’ve even attempted to take scissors to the fuzz to extend the life of it just a bit longer. Buyer beware, if you plan to walk on or occasionally vacuum this rug, choose something else.

Love this rug
Rug is a good size and a good weight - it's wool so it does shed a bit. We are using it in a bedroom without an underlay or a pad and its fine on the hardwood floor. Love the color and it works great in the room

Damaged packaging and used!
I love this rug! It is beautiful and soft. The color is true as specified and it is a great value. HOWEVER, I am disappointed. The packaging was damaged but more importantly, the rug is used and dirty. It has sand and dirt all over it. It was folded with the moisture absorbing packets thrown in and it smells and looks used.

Big bang for the buck!
I purchased more than a dozen rugs at this price point in the last five years. This rug is better looking and much higher quality than all other rugs I purchased in the past. The black/camel rug is accurately described, however, the photos included in the listing appear washed out by comparison. The base color is ivory/bone with a hint of light grey. Accent colors include black, grey, dark grey, camel, and off-white. The rug is extremely neutral and will work well in just about any room or style. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this rug a 9.5, which is the highest rating Ive given to a rug at this price point. NOTE: It is important that you do not use a commercial vacuum to clean a wool rug. The hard brush and suction strength can damage the rug as other reviews have mentioned. A standard upright vacuum with light suction is recommended two or three times a month. If you like this rug, just buy it! You will not be disappointed. UPDATE - It's been three months since I purchased this rug and I could not be more pleased. I vacuum (I have 5 of these rugs) twice a week and the have had no problems, regardless of high traffic. I dare say....4.9 stars!

Horrible and coming apart
Let me just start off with the area rug is nice. It’s a nice color. It’s a nice size. It’s a nice thickness. However, I don’t recommend purchasing for a room that gets a lot of traffic, especially pets. if you’re walking around this room a lot (like a living room) I highly recommend getting a different area rug. Because this is hand woven wool it starts to come apart and there’s no way of putting it back or fixing. A couple months of past, and I have slowly started to hate this rug. I have fluffy’s or whatever you call them in blotches all over the place and it seems like every weekend I’m pulling out the scissors to cut all of the imperfections and it’s just inconvenient. Definitely more of a decoration piece in an art home. That doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic.

Finally found the one!
UPDATE: I’ve only had for a couple months now and just as others have said, the rug definitely gets fuzzy after moderate use. And by moderate I mean just walking across it. It’s not a shedding type of fuzz (I’m not experiencing any shed at all) but more unraveling of the weave that leaves a whole fuzzy appearing layer. It’s not unbearable but depending on lighting, it is noticeable (see last pic). I had subsequently purchased a second one for my preschooler’s bedroom. We’ve had that one about a month and it’s surprisingly holding up (I guess because he’s mostly at school or in my room). So I updated my rating from 5 stars to 3. Original: 5 rugs later and we have a winner! I had been looking for a high quality rug that was soft in color and and this rug was perfect! My walls are greige and I was looking for a nice creamy compliment. The color is a lovely oatmeal with the most perfect imperfectly incorporated streaks of both gray and tan. I only received it last night but upon opening, I noticed no shedding when running my hands over it. Super soft and comfy to walk on. The photos attached are taken around dawn so this is what it looks like under interior lights. Can’t wait to see what it looks like in the natural sunlight. Will be ordering a few more of these for my home. If you are looking for high quality, neutral tone rug without breaking bank, this is your rug!

Horrible durability, don’t buy if you will walk on this rug at all
This rug looked good for the first month but very quickly started to develop a furry fuzz layer that does not release with vacuuming. The loop pile flattened and matted very quickly and the fur layer is unsightly. If you use a vacuum with a roller you will have to cut the fuzz out of the roller bristles every time you vacuum. Clearly these rugs are made from carpet material that was a factory quality control reject. Waste of money
