At first battery lasted 9 days. But only 10 months later, and it is dying.
Really like that with very little use, the battery life was nine full 24 hour days, between charges! No meter, but it starts telling you loud and clear "Battery Low." over and over. Then it only took about three hours to charge. It has a light that will turn from red to green so you know it has charged fully. That was at first it's been 10 months for one and the other started crapping out about 9. We only use them around the house as an intercom kind of thing. But they are doing that great! The only pretty bad thing as many others have complained about is there is NO LOCK?!? It does say channel 3, channel 4 whatever, every time it changes the channel, so you can at least be aware it has changed. But it is pretty easy if you have to unhook it from a belt or whatever to change channel. i found out that you can remove the plastic cover off the channel switch makes it harder to mistakenly have the channel change. It just pries out of the rubber and can be replaced as easily. Hooked up to a repeater that is a mile away and it seems to be able to pick up the other radio anywhere in repeater range of about 25 miles. On it's own in the suburbs maybe a mile. I had to buy a two prong K-type cable to program in the repeater channel. Software's EZ to use, I needed to use a different "port" to get it to register. Very loud, clear speaker, started out with great battery life. Used to charge quick. And no replacement batteries. Should have bought Wouxan at start. Also very solid, I know because I dropped it on tile floor.Radioddity? It is an oddity there is no channel lock!

Great Little GMRS Radios
Nice inexpensive GMRS radios with very good quality sound and feel. These radios feel nice in the hand and you would think they would cost two to three times more than they do. This is my first set of the GM-N1 radios. I only decided to try the GM-N1 radios since my "favorite" YouTube reviewer NotARubicon gave them a thumbs up.

Almost a 5 Star
I needed a pair of radios for my recent cross country convoy, my wife and I relocated and needed to have comms while we drove two separate cars. Using mobile phones was an option but an inconvenience when using Car Play and Maps. I needed something simple, push a button and talk. So I opted for GMRS, why not FRS? Not sure, I thought GMRS was cooler I guess.I went online and got my FCC license for $35, good luck with that, the website is not intuitive and it took me a few attempts to successfully navigate the process. Nonetheless, I got my call sign and the move date was upon us. We agreed to start with Channel 16, why you may ask? Because 4x4 = 16 and I drive a 4x4; its that simple. But it didn't matter because we kept getting signal interference, I suppose that is the challenge with radios, anyone can use them and they do. We bounced around all the GMRS non-repeater frequencies and at times had to turn them off because we would get all sorts of beeping sounds. Especially around Boise, not sure why that was. In Oregon it felt like we picked up on all sorts of radio chatter, not helpful when I need to get off the Highway to find a bathroom. In Arizona we had long spans of radio silence and it was nice again until we hit Phoenix, then the beeping started again.I think, not sure, the radios worked well. They did what we needed them to do but I don't fully understand the sounds that came through and what we were picking up. Anyway, the build is solid, they are very simplistic and they just work right out of the box. The battery lasts a very long time, I charged them at home and they lasted 4 days on the road non-stop. Sometimes left in the on-position while we slept at the various hotels along the way. Not a bad purchase but not a 5 star purchase.

Not Recommended
I want to like the radio. But when using them for hikes we accidentally change channels way too often. Bummer that there is no key lock on them. The belt clip is really tight on the radio that I almost always change the channel accidentally when removing it from the clip. Also your mouth have to be really close to the mic when transmitting. When powering up the radio I had to make sure the volume is not all the way up. After that I then turn up the volume at max so that I can hear others transmitting. The volume between powering up and receiving a call are different and that is annoying to me. I would not recommend this radio at all.Having said all that, support from Nora is the best I ever had on Amazon. One of my radio was faulty where when transmitting my other partner could not hear me until I'm like about 25ft away. Nora got my replacement faster than I was expecting. The 5 stars is because of Nora. If it wasn't for her then the radio is just a 3 stars.

Small and rugged, but nothing special
I bought these for a cross country road trip to avoid FRS interference but was disappointed in the quality of sound, range, and frequency bleed-over. I do not recommend use in large cities or high density traffic. On the road we got about quarter mile to half mile range. Anything further and it was barely readable.Good quality construction and size. If you plan on using these for outdoor use on trails in close proximity, they may work better for you. Three stars due to the poor performance for my needs.

Super simple
I love how easy to use these are. Battery life is great. Audio quality is wonderful if there is background noise like wind. We use these for dirt biking and the range is great for the size and small antennae. I unfortunately lost one but plan to replace it with the same model.US users: Be sure to get your GMRS license, it’s pretty easy to get online and cheap.

Love these things
Love these small gmrs radios, I know there is no screen but there is a voice indication for channel selection, longer use and I can reach the local repeaters, I am looking at another 2 to purchase.
