Do you have to use the zip ties? Or can they be installed for easy removal?

There are bungee type bands on the outside that you can tie to the handle bar or mirrors. But the inside connector will not stay on the handle bar grip without the zip ties and even then not so much. I didn't have good luck with keeping them secured to the ends of the grips even with the zip ties.
