No you don't need nykon drive however If you buy a 2.5inch Hdd seagate or western digital laptop drive this Will allso work and is cheaper just be carefull to look look at the rpm of the disk it must be 7200 rpm. Installement is the same and capacity could be higher like 3tb.Go to PlayStation.com d follow the replace hdd instructions and you'll be fine. also i see that the ps4 hd you have is a 2tb, i heard that your ps4 might run into some problems running a 2tb, you might have to stay with a 1tb.
