I bought these to replace a 10" curved Hemostat I had that was now being used elsewhere and these were to go into my fishing kit. Before they mad it there they were used to remove debris from a clogged drain as they fit down and grabbed the clog and pulled it out and freed the drain. They appear to actually be Stainless Steel or are a type of quality metal as I probably put more pressure on them than I should have in a very wet environment, but I will be using them in a wet environment in the future. They are actually fairly heavy duty and the locks are true locks and require the dexterity to be able to undo them. I enjoy having both the curved and straight options for the price. They have a quality grip and the tooling of the teeth at the grasping part of the hemostat that did not show any signs of wear on the around the house uses so far speak to the quality as softer metals or poorer quality would have left the teeth worn, dented, or have even shown rust at the connection point and these do not. I would purchase again in a heartbeat.

I found these neat tools on Amazon, and they really came through for me. I like to build very technical models that are tedious and very intricate to successfully build. So when the instructions called for me to connect small power cables deep inside the Transformers model that I was building, I found that my fingers were too bid, and simple tweezers were not strong enough or long enough to get the job done. But using these wonderful tools, I was able to snake through the obstacles preventing me from connecting the cables. Beautiful results! Granted, you might not build models like I do, but I bet you occasionally find a situation where you need to reach a little deeper into something that you fingers just won't let you get at. In cases like that, I bet you would wish that you had these tools! I highly recommend them as they saved a TON of frustration for me!
