I first came across Meena Kumari when by chance I saw a video of the song Chalte Chalte on YouTube. This led me to the 1972 film Pakeezah, starring Meena Kumari, from which the song was taken. Seeing this film confirmed that Meena Kumari was extraordinary and it impelled me to buy this book of her poetry. This is a beautifully produced book of her poems in Urdu with English translations. The cover artwork perfectly captures this cosmic poet.

This is a very good book. It was very good to have Meena Kumari's poems translated into English to know what she wrote.
