These are a good, durable weight, absorbent. Sounds silly, but they feel great when using them to dry my hands, I think it's the weight of the fabric and the weave/material is more like muslin. Just know, after the initial few washes and dries they come out looking just like cotton washed/dried when I was younger....hence the need to iron every darned item that was washed! Once they were washed a few times, the wrinkling lessened.

Wash them first
These are pretty big for dish towels. They're nice looking. People complaining about absorption haven't washed them yet. The manufacturer seems to have washed them in some sort of fabric softener, before they packaged them. Fabric softener can really reduce absorbancy. Wash them first, don't add softener, and they're fine. If you really need softening, add vinegar during the final rinse. Works great for towels.

Not as good
I ordered these about a year ago. Great quality. We hand dry all our dishes and I'm hard on tea towels. They held up to the task so I just bought more. Different cloth. Thinner. Who knows. Maybe I’ll like them better. Maybe they will be more absorbent. I hope. I just laundered them today. They did not shrink or fade.
