Easton Youth Torso Tection Shirt

I have this for both of my older kids. The thing fits their body perfectly, but getting it over their heads is tough work. The collar is too small to get them to pass their head into so you have to stretch it out.. Once it's on it's fine, the torso fits perfectly, but the collar is tight going over their and coming off their head. IT's even tight on my 5 year old.The protection is excellent. Having been slammed by a million baseballs over my 40 year span; i can say I wish I had this when I was their age. Also, I am a LL coach and we make the pitchers wear them.

This is a great protective shirt. We ordered the small, and I will say, it still was a little bit big on my child. He normally wears a small in all his other shirts.

Bought this for my very large athletic son. He's 10, is just over 5 feet tall and weighs 112lbs. He's now playing in a upper league with 13/14 year olds and he had outgrown his last protection shirt and wanted something with more protection (those older kids pitch a lot faster!). Anyway, my son normally wears a Youth XL or even an adult small sometimes. I read all the reviews and thought I was safe ordering a size smaller than he normally wears. So we ordered a Youth Large. It's at least one size too big (maybe 2)! I can grab one full handfull of extra material! We love the quality of the shirt, and the nice thick padding with the extra coverage, but with it being too big, the chest padding extends too close to his arms and thus interfers with his throwing (my son pitches so it's a big issue). I went back to order a smaller size and found that Youth Large WAS the smallest size I could order. I tried Amazon as well as just a Google search. Even went to the Easton website. Not sure why smaller sizes aren't offered. It's a shame that I have to return due to sizing. Overall, good product, heavy quality padding, but runs extremely large -- order 1 to 2 sizes down from normal shirt size.

This was the single best purchase for my son. It gave him the confidence to stay in the batter's box and was the most consistent hitter on his team. The shirt is bulky and he looks like Iron Man on the field but all his buddies think it's cool and he has a big smile the whole game. So worth it if you have a kid that is a bit nervous to get popped by the ball.

My son is small for his age. Just turned 10 and just 50lbs, wears size 8 clothing. I ordered the smallest available size and this shirt swallowed him up. I tried to see if I could sew it to fit but that would not have worked. When he would lift his arms to a batting stance the bulky ness of the shirt blocked his face. Looked ridiculous. It's too bad because being small, he and I both wanted the most protection we could find from those fast wild pitches. Maybe it would work for bigger or broader kids.

Protection in the right place. Like the idea of the shirt. Boys did not like wearing the shirt. To bulky moves around as the move and run. Size runs a little bigger than typical. Needs to be lighter weight material. Gets to hot under jersey.

This was good and just what nephew wanted. You want him to look like a cyborg while he is playing baseball? You got it. The other reviews are correct in that you need to purchase one size smaller than normal. It isn't that they are not true to size, because they are....you just have to think of these like purchasing under armour and shirts like that. You always get something smaller because they are supposed to fit smaller. This way it is skin tight and doesn't move around. If you have a growing boy, personally i would get exact sizing so he can grow into the shirt and get a couple years of use.

We liked the shirt but it is very bulky and hard to put your regular sized pants on with. I am hoping it settles down a little or my son may not wear it. it would be good to know how it should be worn, skin tight or loose fitting and i am not sure what is best here. It did give him more confidence to play knowing he had more protection.
