I needed to clean out the old oil my father left in his Fry Daddy. Used just over half a bag as directed and then, VOILA! The oil had solidified as advertised and clean up was a breeze. Will definitely keep on hand for future situations.

This stuff works really well!! I prepared fried chicken for my family this weekend and once the last piece of chicken was done and the stove was off, I sprinkled two packets of Fryaway powder into the hot oil, stirred it up well and left it be. Came back a few hours later to deal with dishes and clean up, and the oil was completely SOLID! Easy to pull out and dump in the trash! Man, did that make me happy!

It does the job for sure! The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that it does leave some solid chunks behind that can be a little difficult to clean up. But the majority of the work is done. I would absolutely use it again.

So glad I bought this. It work great, plus it prevents me from having to just leave it in a can or pot.

What a disappointment! We're very precise people and even though we followed the (skimpy) instructions, this would not work as advertised! We worked it in our cast-iron pot, and somehow it never fully solidified. Became a huge mess and cost more in paper, bags and dishwasher liquid to clean a nasty situation. Agreeing with many people, the instructions as to exact quantities etc. are not very "solid". Won't buy again.

This item was suggested to me, I was a little skeptical but it worked well. Let it sit 24 hours for best result.

I love that I don’t have to save old glass jars for use oil under my sink anymore. This was super simple and definitely made throwing away the old oil so easy. I almost didn’t think it was going to solidify but after awhile, it formed the gelatin like substance they advertised. It’s more expensive than I’d like but I don’t fry that often so that’s good.

I had no idea this product existed until I saw an ad and got curious. Before FryAway, we'd pour cooled oil into a container and then put it in the freezer. Once the oil is frozen into a block, we're drop the block into a compostable bag and then into the green bin for the city to pickup. In the winter, the block would stay frozen and not be a problem. During the not so cold days and depending when in the day the green bin truck would come, the block would melt and make a mess in the green bin. That was before... This is today... Right after doing the last cook with the oil and while the oil is still really hot, I poured the pouches (it comes with two) into the oil and stirred it well. Our fryer holds 3L of oil so we used both pouches. As the oil cools, it turns into solid gummy jelly. Took about 3 hours and that it much quicker than freezing the oil. Then it much easier to dump that brick of jelly into a compostable bag (and keep the green bin clean) or just plain dump the jelly blob straight into the green bin. Makes the process much cleaning in the kitchen and not worry about spills or splashes. It has become my new favorite way of getting rid of old oil besides freezing it.
