I think they have 3 sizes. I ordered the largest size. Just measured it - 13.5 inches by 10.5 inches of the useable ice pack. The border goes out a little but - about a quarter inch or so.

Q: Does the pack become hard & inflexible after chilling in the freezer? Does it 'begin to sweat' after a time when being used?

slightly firm,not stiff after chilling, pack does not sweat while using, we have used many packs over the years, these are by far the best, elastic straps are a bonus,allowes pack to stay in place and adjust for tightness.

Q: OK to use for fitness in hot weather (strap one to back, another to chest) just to stay cool?

top strap is 29 in. bottom strap is 12in. comes with extra 24 in strap unattached with velcro. my ice packs work very well on my knees and is designed to work well with or without straps, suits many needs, i tried to check out thoroughly before purchase and would recommend.
