so the lighting isn't great. And they will burn out because there are ...
There's only two bulbs in this pad, so the lighting isn't great. And they will burn out because there are no resistors pu in line during the engineering and manufacturing process to prevent this. But I simply used a soldering iron to lightly burn out the recesses where the original OEM bulbs were to make room for new ones purchased at Radio Shack and soldered in 1k resistors in line and so far, very bright lighting with no burnouts.I understand that although this was simple for me, it may not be for everyone, or even for those that understand the repair technology used, may not want to bother with this exercise. In any case, there's the review and the choice to purchase on this item is a personal matter because I can't pass that judgement on due to what I had to do to make the pads worth it for me.The way I look at it, for the money spent, if the pad lights hold out, then you're ahead of the game. If not, then either you lose or spend a few pennies at Radio Shack and make it a product you initially liked and will then be able to keep for a very long time. And, to boot, once modified as I did, is rebuildable for the future, which extends its lifespan even more.To purchase or not purchase is a very personal and subjective matter for this item, so you're not going to get that from me here on this one this time.

OKAY
Love the way the pad looks on the desk, the shape is cool, and size is really good. The problem is the USB connections. I have only been able to plug one thing into the pad, if I try to plug my phone into to charge as well it is way too slow. So...can't imagine plugging four things in.

I like it! Have some glue handy and it's really nice looking.
Really cool mouse pad that looks great. I take one star away because the black surface came unglued after only a few days but I was able to use some crazy glue to re apply it fairly easily. In truth I might have rated it slightly lower because the surface area is a bit small for a standard sized mouse and I have had issues with hitting the silver plastic top of the usb hub box at the top of it and getting hung up in games, but the usb ports allow me to charge my cell phone through them and I love that so it makes up for it in my opinion. I get compliments from my friends whenever they see it. It really does look awesome!

Good Pad Surface
At 3' the included USB cable is too short for any practical use,the surface area is rather small for a gaming pad and the USB connection area wastes more pad room. The LED looks nice in a dark room. The glass Cyber Snipa is the best pad I've used so far but is discontinued.

It works, But it is a different Shape then the Pictured Mousepad.
The mouse pad does function as advertised, in that it contains small blue LED lights that make the unit "glow in the dark" when you have the lights off. And I want to emphasize that the LED blue effect is really only visible in a dark or semi dark room. It does have four working USB ports, conveniently placed, and these also function as advertised. Mind you, these are not "Powered" USB ports, so don't expect to run your printer off of them.My mouse pad is a different shape than the pad pictured. My mouse pad has concave sides, whereas the mouse pad pictured has convex sides. Maybe it's a different model, but I kept it because this wasn't a deal breaker for me. BTW, in a dark room, this thing is REALLY bright.

looks alright, 7 days and its not lit anymore
if you want a good led mouse pad that will work for a while, dont buy this one. it stopped working in 7 days. very dissappointed

Meh
This was pretty disappointing. It worked for awhile but then I think the wiring inside the mouse pad came loose because it began flashing, and then eventually stopped glowing at all. I tried replacing the usb cable but it did not help.

Works As Intended
who ever expected this thing to light up brightly must be using it in the day light. the LEDs are just FINE. though i am having one issue though, and that could just be because my mouse is a used one i found at my old work. its not responding to the pad that well, despite being made for it - therefore the mouse could just be old. BUT, when i flip the pad upside down and use the other surface, the mouse responds greatly.+ works as intended+ leds are bright enough to not blind you+ doubles as a usb hub- the usb cord could have been black -_-- having to flip the pad upside for the mouse to work <--- just for now i hope- UPDATE 2/22/13 -the LEDs have stopped functioning and no longer light up, but the usb ports still respond. i will continue to play with it over the weekend and if nothing comes from it, i will opt for a replacement. it was not abused and it stayed still in one spot, still upside down.- UPDATE 2/24/13 -the LEDs have kicked back on. this is a very strange mouse pad --__--
