Great extension cable for large cases.
If you have a larger case and shorter power supply cables. You will need extensions. This one is well built and has worked great. No melting of the wires or connector. And I've been using it for months. A must for large cases. Grab one or a few and keep them on hand if you frequently build new PCs or are thinking of building a new one soon.

BEWARE who you by it from
This review is not fair to OKGEAR, but is representative of the Amazon product listing.IF you get the real OKGEAR CG12AMF product, it is a fine cable, and it is 12" long and works as advertised. I have purchased 3 of these from Coolerguys, and they are legit. Those are 5-star products.However, at the time of this review, approximately 2/3 are sellers in China/Hong Kong. I have purchased 2 of these from Wire Factory (a seller in China). These sellers come and go, and what I received is even "reject" generic cables. They were not made by OKGEAR. They made no attempt to even make these look fake with a different package and part number. The cables had sloppy molded connectors and were only about 7" long. These were even rejects by generic Chinese standards. The package was labeled 30cm, and the product inside was only 18cm.Be very careful about who you buy these from. Only buy from a legitimate USA seller if you have any hope of receiving the real product. You will pay a premium, but the fake ones aren't even worth 1 star. I won't even attempt to use those junk cables with my expensive SSDs and other drives.

Worked For Me...
I cut it in half, and put a ribbon cable in to make it 6 feet long. I use it to run power from the computer to a drive in a safe.

Does the job - a tad shorter than 12 inches though
does the job - but just so everyone is aware, the cable is actually less than 12 inches. It measures 11.5 inches from farthest part on each end, but once connected, it is only 11 inches since there is 1/4 inch on each side that fits into your other cable or card, etc.Not a big deal, but it is worth noting for anyone where that extra inch may make a difference.

Great extension cable
I bought this cable in order to install a PCIe USB 3.0 card in my lab server at work. The only slot I had available for the card, which required power through a cable directly from the power supply, was too far away from the closest connector that I had available. This cable perfectly extended the reach of the available power cable to connect to my USB 3.0 card when connected to the 15 Pin SATA mail to 4 Pin Female Power Cable.I would recommend the CG 12 inch SATA 15pin power extension cable # GC12AMF to anyone who needs to extend the reach of their power supply connections.

Perfect for what I needed.
When I built my system I used a Corsair CX430M power supply that came with two modular SATA cables. Each cable has two power connectors. I used one cable for the hard drive but in order to power my DVD drive I would've had to plug in the 2nd cable. I didn't want to do that for cable management purposes so this solution allowed me to use the unused connector on the 1st cable. Plenty of length to route cleanly with all the other cables too.
