Light, durable, pretty
This pan is half the thickness, and also half the weight of my LeCreuset cast iron pan. It is pretty large, very efficient and durable. So far, I've done pancakes, crab cakes, potato gratin and regular casserole.in it. The enamel is still light, but I'm sure that with heavy use it will loose some of its luster and light. Just like LeCreuset, really. If you use things the use shows, simple as that. Overall, it is a great pan, very well made and pretty too.

Beautiful -- and I can lift it!
My stainless saute pan has gotten too heavy for me. I missed this chef's pan the first time it came around, a dozen or so years ago, so was very happy to find it available.

An Attractive Addition to the Dining Table!
I bought the pot because I wanted a fairly shallow pan for cooking and well as serving when company comes and I must say this fits the bill. I can cook and serve up a tasty rice dish all in the same pan. I would have given it a 5 star but for it's tendency to burn food rather quickly. For example you have to keep watch if you're frying onions in oil or pan toasting garlic. The pan heats up too quickly and it burn the food and stains the inner enamel. This happened the very first time I used it but I was able to scour the stains. I think the stains would stick if it happens too many times. Thus the 4 stars. The pan is heavy but it is not as sturdy or heat proof as a 'black' cast iron pan.

Very disappointed
I got this pan about 6 months ago thinking lighter cast iron would be a good thing because I find my regular cast iron enamel pieces to be very heavy. It was an attractive pan when I got it, but after a few uses I noticed the exterior enamel appeared to be coming off. As in, when I wipe it with a damp white towel, red comes off on the towel. I don't know what it's made of, but none of my other enamel pieces do that. A few more uses, and the exterior enamel looked awful. Being lighter cast iron is not really a good thing, either. It seems to heat up too quickly and have hot spots, so things want to stick and burn. I think this is a very poorly made product.

Love the light weight and color but it isn't all that nonstick.
I do love the light weight and the color is fabulous. My comments should be taken in light of the fact that I am cooking on a portable induction cooktop. The pan seems higher in the center than along the edges as the oil always rolls to the edges of the pan and therefore the food in the center gets very littel oil and does tend to stick. It also seems to cook overwhemlingly hotter in the center probably because the induction cooktop is not 12 inches. After cooking a few times, I've noticed the center is not very nonstick and there seems to be some sort of residue that always stays behind after cleaning. I've used vinegar to clean it to see if that helps remove it and allow the center to resist sticking. I love the light weight and the color and the concept as a whole but it hasn't lived up to my desires for cooking on a a portal induction cooktop.

Cast Iron Lite Chef's Pan
If there is a such thing as a beautiful pan, this is it. The color is uplifting, I love that there is no long handle for me to get caught up on. It is lite and easy to handle and it cooks well and is easy to clean.

I love this pan
I love this pan. It weighs about half of the Lodge of same size. I have a glass top stove and when I am using this pan I do not use high heat. I never exceed higher than medium/high. The pan was just used for the 4th time and I do not have any staining. Clean up was a breeze. We love it.
