Great to meet my needs

I was looking for a cutting board for my kid’s craft projects for a while and spent time reading reviews before choosing one. I ordered this one without being 100% sure if it would be good and I’m so glad I did. I honestly didn’t realize from the description, but it actually folds closed for storage and then opens up to work on, which is super convenient and saves space. The cutting is really clean and precise. It works great and feels very easy to use. It also comes with a small plastic tool (not totally sure what it’s for yet), but it’s a nice extra. I just received it and already tested it cutting some paper, and it works amazing. I definitely recommend it!

This Ecraft 12x12 paper trimmer and scoring board is a solid tool, especially for beginners or anyone working on crafts like J-cards, book covers, or small gift boxes. The scoring function works very well—it's easy to create clean, consistent folds without much effort. If you're mainly buying this for folding and layout work, it does the job reliably. Cutting is decent but not perfect. It can produce straight cuts, but I’ve noticed that if you don’t press firmly and evenly on the cutter handle, it can slightly damage the paper or leave a beveled edge instead of a perfectly clean cut. This is more noticeable on thicker paper like cardstock. Because of that, I personally prefer using a guillotine-style paper trimmer for final cuts, especially when I need sharp, professional edges. Overall, this is a good multi-purpose tool, but it’s stronger as a scoring board than as a precision cutter.

First, a little about me - I am a photographer that has used professional matting and framing equipment. I’m picky enough that I won’t print a lake or ocean shot if the horizon is off by as little as half a degree without correcting. I read all the reviews first and decided to try this out. I took on a project to produce 75 cards and was going to try to find a way to utilize my matting equipment, then realized I should look for something on Amazon first. The reviews about the marks not being 100% accurate made sense after trying a couple sheets of paper. I wasted sheets of cheap blank paper until I figured out which lines to use and adjustments I needed to make for my project. The flimsiness of regular paper makes it difficult to score a straight line, and the 80lb cover stock I used was about the lowest weight I would use on this scoring board. After wasting a few sheets of paper and feeling confident about my settings, I managed to score my 75 cards in less than an hour with no mistakes. I did notice that some of my cards were not perfectly lined up, but that may have been on account of the paper I was using. While setting the left edge prior to scoring, I noticed that there were variations of squareness. I was skeptical about buying a product which is essentially a plastic butter knife and a ribbed table, thinking the knife was going to jump track at some point. That never happened. In the end, I’m very happy with this purchase. If you need to compete with Hallmark, maybe you need to spend more than $20, but for most people, this should do the trick. ***UPDATE***. It’s now four years later and I find myself using this little cutter on a regular basis. I only wish it was larger as I’m finding myself trimming batch photos from rolls of paper. I just have to trim the roll down to about letter size before final trimming here. This item has become such a time saver for me!

The board arrived on Saturday. When I used it for the 2nd time on Monday, the blade fell out. Previous reviews mentioned having this problem, but I decided to take a chance based on the fact that it folded and was a combination of scoring board and trimmer. When I made the original order, I considered buying replacement blades but decided to wait to see how I liked it. I’m glad I didn’t because replacement blades are not worth the price if the life span of the blade is less than one week and falls apart after trimming less than 50 pages. Since this issue has been mentioned in previous reviews, the manufacturer should supply at least one extra blade with the board. I’m not going to return it because I will use the scoring board to prepare crafts for children’s church, which is why I purchased it. If all you need is the scoring feature, larger size and foldability, this would be an ok purchase. But if trimming paper is important, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Can be used for trimming paper as well a scoring. It is very light weight, nice, but also not very sturdy.
