Not powerful or immediate for a whole room, but great regardless
The reviewer who made it sound like he was raising his room temp 15 degrees in 45 mins must have misspoken (or I misunderstood), or he is pointing this thing straight at his thermometer. My finished (but drafty) basement office is 13x13 with 8 foot ceilings. I’d say it takes 5 hours for this heater alone to get from the overnight temp of 62F to my preferred temp of ~77F (I’m a tropical man). Sure, I can place it 3-5 feet in front of me and my front side feels toasty and warm, but that’s not pleasant when the rest of me (and the air around me) is frigid.HOWEVER, what this does extremely well for me is MAINTAINING a comfortable, toasty environment once the room is close to the desired temperature. It’s also totally free of the noise and unpleasant ‘warm but breezy’ sensation of usual space heaters.I unblock the HVAC vent in the morning or turn on my bigger space heater until the room reaches ~70F, then switch to only this. From there it’s easy for the infrared heater to reach/maintain the perfect temp the rest of the day, and I usually have to switch to low or off 5- 6 hours later.Pros:- Totally silent- Maintains a steady, toasty warm heat well once the room is at a decent temp.- No unpleasant wind blowing feel of typical space heaters.- Tip over safety switch is instant- Cools almost instantly when turned off- Super light and slimCons- Less powerful and immediate than you’re probably thinking. The whole “warming objects, not air” explanation is too ambiguous to be useful IMO, but it means you won’t really feel the heat for a few hours, unless it’s pointing right at you and less than 5-6 feet away.- I wouldn’t trust this around pets, kids, or clumsy/stupid people

Tabletop Big Heat from Little Heater
I've had my heater over a year, and it still works great! One star off for not being able to switch between the two single elements when on low, to prolong element life; and a star off for safety issues. High on both elements, gives good warmth in office area at 4-8 ft. Low setting comfortably warms the surfaces around you at 1-4 ft away. Kickstand is not tilt adjustable, and direction of heat is important with radiant heat. You may need to prop it at another angle for optimum comfort. Best used on a tabletop! Lightweight and thin profile will topple easily if bumped in a busy space or by a foot under a desk. Could get burned if you do. Housing is only warm to touch, but metal safety grate on front is very hot. Mine is on a table nearby. Perfect way to use it is table top.

Absolutely perfect! Highly recommend. Like my own personal, cozy, infrared fireplace!
I could not be happier with this little heater! It is fabulous! My own small, powerful, cheery fireplace feeling! It's built very light, nicely looking I got white so I would see it well and not as easily knock it over), yet designed efficiently. Very easy to carry, and the makers obviously worked to provide maximum heat output but to also keep the price low - perfect. The dry infrared heat is so cozy and comforting, it lifts my spirits and calms my tired muscles. This is making me sleep much better! I get the room warm and then turn it off and get under my comforter (not run it overnight! Any heater with red-hot elements needs to be attended!)but somehow it's not a forlorn, half-depressing, less pleasant, non-dispersed, blowing heat like the little fan heaters I have, which labor hard but make a little noise & dont make the room cozy & inviting as this one does.I like to stand in front of this a bit like I would a fireplace, then leave it to do its work and warm up my little space (maybe 20' x 15'?).When it's really cold outside I start it on both heating elements, then turn it down to just the one. And it's great to have a little fan bout 5 or 6 ft away blowing perpendicular to the heat this is putting out, which kind of seems to disperse it around the room perfectly.

Cannot recommend.
Will not even heat a small bathroom only heats a very small area directly in front of it.

Warm with lower wattage
This heater is great for certain applications. If you are sitting in front of the heater you will get warmed up. It seems to reflect heat out through the front without a fan. It is a bit like sitting in the sun. I like the fact that it uses less wattage compared to the usual 1500 watt heaters. It claims 500 watts but I imagine on setting one it only uses about 250 watts (just math). It does not make noise like most heaters and that is awesome. There is no thermostat so do not leave it unattended. This heater does NOT create a burning smell like a lot of heaters seem to do. The knob settings 1 and 2 are redundant on the top and bottom but work fine letting you just rotate to adjust. The heater simply reflects heat from the quartz bars like you might find in a toaster oven. So don't expect it to heat a room the same way a 1500 watt heater with a fan might, however it is great to sit in front of on a cold day.

Works fine but didn't last long
I was excited to tryout this heater, but it didn't last longer than a year. It's quiet, safe around kids, and does heat up the 'one' area It's focused on. It has two infrared inside of it and the bottom one short-circuit. I'm so glad I was awake when it happened. Keeping it on low worked best to avoid fire. It started smoking and gave out on the coldest day, which was 9 degrees outside. It held on until my new heater arrived. Now, I'm hesitant to try a infrared heater again.

Perfect for warming smaller spaces quickly!
Hopeful this will come back in stock-I will buy more! Very quick and efficient heating. I use it in the bedroom and bath to keep things warm without running the house unit too much. I love that this doesn’t dry out my skin, sinuses but rather conditions them. Btw, I still use this if I’m sitting in a larger area and it provides direct personal heating. Important to understand, you need plenty of space between the heater and you or your furniture. Radiant heating will quickly heat objects, animals & you!
