Thrilled with my Results!
I purchased this product to redo the bed liner in the tub of my YJ that I believe had previously been done with Herculiner. The previous liner was peeling up, cracked and faded pretty bad leaving the tub open to the elements and resulting in a little bit of surface rust. I didn't want this to get worse over time so after being quoted $750 to have it done professionally I decided to go the DIY route! I absolutely love the outcome of this product! I sprayed it last night and it is absolutely beautiful! I am hoping that it holds up according to the reviews I have read in various locations online! I also based my decision on the fact that this is one of the few DIY kits I could find that had UV protection in it! Also I made the decision to not chip out, bust out, sand or grind off ALL of my existing liner because there were some areas of it that did look good and weren’t peeling up and didn’t appear to have issues sealing to the metal. I would say about 1/3 of the existing liner was left and just scuffed up and cleaned very well to allow this product to be sprayed over it.Things I needed to do the job:1. For my YJ tub I used 1 of these 4 bottle kits w/ Gun2. Mixing Cup3. Air Compressor4. Regulator5. Dryer for Compressor6. Auto Paint Tape7. Plastic Sheeting8. Foam Ear Buds (plug screw holes)9. Cardboard (used to block the opening to the transfer case area)10. Paint Thinner11. Good Quality Respirator12. Teflon Tape to secure threads on Gun13. Safety Glasses14. Grinder (you could just use sand paper and elbow grease)15. Self Etching Primer16. Dawn Dish Soap17. Wire Brush18. Tack ClothSteps I went through with an already coated Jeep Tub:1. Removed ALL seats, plugs, hardware, bolts… ALL OF IT2. Sprayed out tub with water hose3. Grinded all flaky, peeling, cracked, and exposed surfaces and scruffed up rest of existing liner4. Blew out all I could with an air hose5. Washed Jeep with Dawn Dish soap to remove all the oils from existing liner6. After Dry - Cleaned with Acetone/Paint Thinner7. Sprayed an Etching Primer (has acid to help etch and stick to metal)8. Used Auto Paint Tape and Plastic to tape off and block off areas I didn’t want painted9. Cleaned once again with Acetone/Paint Thinner10. Tack Cloth11. Checked PSI on Regulator set up Gun to spray12. Mixed 250ml of Hardener in Bottle and shook for 2 minutes13. Sprayed First Coat14. Let dry for the stated 60 minutes flash time (during this time I cleaned out gun with paint thinner so it doesn’t get gunked up on the next coat since I was spraying more than 1 coat)15. Mixed and Sprayed Second Coat16. Remove Tape and Let Cure! Cure time according to UPOL is 2-3 days light use and 5-7 days Normal UseThings to know...1. If you don't have some items on hand or available this can be costly but I was fortunate to have near all the tools on hand and borrowed a compressor and regulator from a friend.2. Invest in good tape!3. If you are spraying in an enclosed environment use a respirator and I don't mean some cheap $0.25 mask... Get a decent Face Mask Respirator they run from about $30-40 and they will make an amazing difference. I had no idea this stuff even had an odor until I removed my mask... I had to spray in the garage due to unpredictable weather on the coast and I would have easily smogged myself out before finishing.4. Use a dryer on your compressor if it doesn't already have one... you can find cheap disposable ones at any automotive parts store.5. Don't lean your gun too much to the left (or right if the vent hole happens to be on that side of your gun) there is a small hole to help the bottle vent while spraying and if you tip it too much it will leak out of that hole onto your project.6. You can gauge the texture by messing with your PSI and your distance from the area you are spraying.7. DON'T PREMIX ALL THE BOTTLES! Once the hardener is added to the paint bottles you only have so long to spray.8. I recommend getting a mixing cup and using it to measure out the hardener… I love the logic behind the system being a mix, point, shoot but the reality is the bottles are black and it’s a little tough to see that line you are suppose to fill the bottle to…9. While this is a spray system if you check U-POL there are directions for using this as a roll on application as well as buying tintable kits so you can get custom colors and they even offer a silica sand that can be mixed into the bottles if you need a non slick/gripping surface.10. It can be sprayed in any direction as long as you are getting a fairly even coat and good solid coverage. Basically it isn’t finicky!11. If you get it on your skin try to clean it up sooner rather than later… when this stuff dries it’s near impossible to wash off.YOU CAN DO IT... It really is a simple application! I have never shot paint out of a gun in my life but this went as smooth as one could’ve hoped! The outcome looks fantastic and I am very happy with the final result. Photos attached of Before, Prepped, and After I finished spraying.Good Luck!

Awesome bang for your buck
I bought this with a little uneasiness. I have tried other do it yourself bed liners without poor results. For $100 i figured what the heck. I can not be more impressed with the results. It looked like i took it in and had it professionally done. As others have said the directions aren't too great for prep but i think it looks great and will hold up. I used this liner to do the inside of the cab of my offroad truck. I pulled everything out and used 80 grit sandpaper by hand and just scuffed it up enough to take the shine out of the paint. I had a few areas where the paint had flaked. For those spots I took my angle grinder and a wire brush and knocked it down to bare metal. I then took a damp cloth and cleaned up all the dust from the grinding and then went over it again with cheesecloth and acetone. Then I bought some of the self etching primer from napa and coated everywhere I could see the slightest hint of silver(bare metal). Once the primer dried there was a little more dust from the primer so i hit it again with a piece of cheese cloth. Others have said the over spray is bad; I didn't see anything too bad I might have had 3 drops go out of the truck and I left all 4 doors open the whole time. The fumes were bad while spraying but I used a surgical mask while spraying it in my garage with the man door open with 2 fans circulating and didn't have any problems. A couple things to note after the first coat we took flashlights and examined every square inch. The flashlight really lit up the red paint of the floor and we could see exactly where the product was a little too thin so we could make sure we hit those spots. All in all this was a great product and far exceeded my expectations. I have it curing in the garage right now sitting exactly at 68 degrees as per the instructions. I did everything in my power to match the ideal conditions listed in the instructions and it looks great! I am going to buy more of this to do the rocker panels on the same truck. I will try to upload pictures once I am done. There was one tiny flaw that makes no sense to me I bought the kit with the spray gun and they didn't have the quick attach adapter on the spray gun they had a threaded adapter. Luckily I had an old air tool that didn't work so I scrapped the adapter off it and swapped it out. If that's the only flaw I'd say they are doing good.
