Very Satisfied
Fresh, flavorful. Easy to plant too. Soak them in cold water for a few hours, pour them in a hole.

Excellent Peanuts at a Good Price
These peanuts are beautiful. I have been buying raw peanuts from a local store, and decided to try these as the price was the same, and I was becoming dissatisfied with the local peanuts. These peanuts are definitely a better quality than the local ones. They are all whole peanuts, out of the shell, they are bigger and heavier than the local ones. The local peanuts always came broken up and they often didn't smell right, so I'm glad I tried the Royal Oak Gourmet Virginia Raw Out of the Shell Peanuts. There is a warning on the package that since they are an agricultural product, they should be cooked a bit to kill off any bacteria. They have been inspected by the USDA. You can roast them if you are worried about them being raw agricultural products. I looked up how to roast raw peanuts: Directions: Place raw peanuts, in shell or shelled, one layer deep in a shallow baking pan. Sprinkle salt over. Roast in a 350 degree F oven; 15 to 20 minutes for shelled and 20 to 25 minutes for in shell peanuts. Remove from heat just short of doneness desired, as peanuts continue to cook as they cool. Good peanuts.
I am a peanut lover. I have a callus from shelling peanuts. I like them roasted, boiled, or raw. These peanuts are just fine. As noted by other reviewers, they are remarkably large. The ones I got were fresh, with no trace of mold. They have a good flavor. They are somewhat cheaper than I can find in stores. Also, stores do not always have raw peanuts. The package says not to eat raw peanuts, but I do it anyhow. Cooking is supposed to protect you from the possible presence of aflatoxin, which you can Google if you are curious.

Raw Redskin peanuts
First time I've purchased and processed these for eating/snacking. They are a good value, out of ten #'s only a few nasty kernels, easy enough to sort out during the first rinsing process. I was worried that the date on the bags seemed to say they were harvested in Feb of 2012, but after checking with the company website, if raw peanuts are stored at cooler levels they can last indefinitely, once processed only a few weeks unless again stored at cooler temps or frozen. They came bundled together in an airtight heavier weight plastic bag along with proper packaging by Amazon. They have skins which after roasting and cooling are easy enough to remove by grasping handfuls and rubbing together, which also separates the peanut pieces. A fun project for a family weekend! I soaked 4 c. at a time (after rinsing well in cold water) in 1 tablespoon of sea salt and enough water to cover and then some, because they will rehydrate..7-24 hours...rinse again and roast at 350 (in my oven..yours may be different) for 45+ minutes, checking /stirring every 15 or so for doneness. The soaking will remove any enzymes making them difficult to digest. They will be shiny when they are done..don't overdue because they continue to cook as they cool (and make these cool crackling sounds).

Gourmet it is!
You can take the girl out of the south, but you can't take the south outta the girl! I love boiled peanuts. And because of the pressure cooker I don't have to wait days while the 50 gal barrel in the front yard cooks my peanuts! I guess this is the closest it comes to fast food-boiled peanuts. These peanuts are HUGE. They are high quality. Clean. Evenly sized. They appear fresh. They taste GREAT! I extremely satisfied and happy with these peanuts! EXCELLENT - December 2012
I've learned that agricultural products vary from year to year - that's nature. I am a first time purchaser of these peanuts and I'm VERY impressed. I'd never used raw peanuts before, so will have some fun playing with them and making up recipes. So far, I've spread a single layer on a cookie sheet (actually a half-sheet baker's pan, which has sides), sprinkled them with sea salt, cayenne and garlic powders, then roasted them dry at 350 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. Then I tossed them with about a half teaspoon, maybe a bit more, of olive oil, and put them back in the oven for about 5 minutes. YUMMY! I hope to figure out how to keep the seasonings better attached to the nuts without adding lots of oil, but for a first try, I'm very pleased. Looking forward to making my own peanut butter, too.

Very disappointed!
I have ordered these peanuts a few months ago and loved them, so I re-ordered them and after roasting some, I saw that they were all spoiled. I never looked closer at them because the first two bags were perfectly fresh. But when I roasted them just now and the skins could come off easily, I couldn't believe my eyes! I've never seen peanuts that were this bad. I then examined the raw peanuts and noticed mold spots all over them. Very, very disappointed. I hope Amazon can replace these with the good ones, so I'm returning this order. I'm attaching several images.

Beautiful, Fresh and Delicious Peanuts!
I am prepping a batch of these for boiled peanuts right now. These are raw, air-dried peanuts, so they have to soak in cold water for several hours (up to a day) like you would regular dried beans - but boy is it worth the wait! Every peanut so far has been huge, fresh, and so very yummy! They make a much lower-carb alternative for your standard navy or other regular dried beans. Mind you, they still have carbs, but a whole lot less than other, starchier beans. Since these are already shelled, it makes it much easier to make a big batch up of spicy (or just salty) boiled peanuts. You can also put them in the slow cooker with a ham hock and make them up like a regular pot of ham & beans - delicious! I got the two six-pound sacks deal and it is very much so worth it - they're so much better than what you can find in the store.
