Billions: Season One

Tautly written, twists and turns at almost every step, and high tension throughout. Sometimes a little confusing with the rapid-fire financial jargon and terminology, but that pales with the overall storyline and the incredible escalating joust between the two main characters which leave the viewer exhausted but satisfied (and wanting to watch "just one more") at the end of each episode. Few, if any, slow spots as each step of the story reveals either another chess move or a deeper look into a character's psyche. Both of the primary characters are truly superb at their portrayals of their characters - indeed, all of the actors are excellent. The ending of the final episode (no spoilers) was extremely well done and serves both as a fitting conclusion to what has gone on throughout the season - yet could also serve as a springboard for another season. Satisfying either way.

When you boil it down, this show is about EGO's and who has the bigger ego.12 episodes to the season. I can't believe the colorful language. I didn't think people talked like that anymore (when I worked as a laborer in manufacturing people swore all the time, but these people are supposed to represent the richest of the richest).I can't see how this show would ever make it to the networks unless it was heavily edited for the language. I don't subscribe to Cable or Premium channels so this was an easy way to watch this show. Can't wait to see the second season

I saw the first episode on Showtime and I was hooked. I’m goi g to binge watch all of it!

Excellent and fairly easy to follow story line in the murky underworld of high finances and investment.Also, well cast with mostly unfamiliar actors, at least to me. I plan on getting the rest of the seasons.

just can't buy the story line how wendy works for axelrod yet is married to chuck...too implausible...wish i could get passed it..oh well i'll get season two and three from my public library so i won't have to pay..

Wow, another Showtime smash hit! From the kinky opening scene to the last scene of the season the twists and turns of these two protagonists will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more! More drama, more cunning underhanded dealings by both characters! It's a mental chess game being played out by these two polar opposites who really are the same in reality! Sex, power, intrigue, are all words attributed to this show! It won't disappoint!

Stellar acting. Tale of two alpha-males duking it out. Reminds me of Neitche--at least I think it was Neitche-- who said something like "When hunting a monster, one must be careful not to become the monster." It's hard to decide who's the good guy and who's the bad guy. Both brilliant, both flawed, both breaking the rules. Supporting cast is amazing, too. Expect colorful language and some sex.

Excellent Showtime show! Can't say it enough. The two main characters in the show make it so great. I purchased this to catch up with Season 1, even though I've seen it on air. This show reminds me of the old times Dynasty show with a 2017 update. Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti deliver superb performance throughout this series. Go see this, you won't be disappointed!

Cette série est tout bonnement géniale: les acteurs sont excellents, la qualité des 4 disques de la saison 1 est au rendez-vous. Dommage que l'éditeur ait choisi de diffuser les saisons suivantes au format DVD. C'est non seulement un appel au piratage, mais un f-outage de g-ueule inexcusable. En attendant, foncez sur le Blu-ray de la saison 1 pour un plaisir inégalé.

I adore Damian Lewis. He is a brilliant actor in every way. Tough or tender, whatever role he plays is always interesting to watch. Giamatti character is more corrupt than any other character, and corruption is rampant throughout, whether in the law, in business, in personal relationships - especially child rearing - a typical American story.

Great first season. Paul Giamatti and Maggie Siff are great in the series.
