Received the item today, installed it, and once connected, noticed hissing sound from it, turns out the drain valve is leaking air. Seems not from the middle stem, but from the outer thread. Lucky I have spare valves and valve tool, removed the original valve and install a replacement valve, it no longer leaks. Ran a portable sandblaster for 10min using it, haven't notice any water getting collected.

So far it's a 5 star item. That may change after I use it longer. The fit and finish speaks of a well made quality product. I am going to wrap a thick rubber band around the bottom to cushion it. It likely doesn't need it, more for my pease of mind when I bounce it off the floor. The unit is small enough that you could attach it directly to your paint gun although I'll put it between the short leader hose (think fishing not alpine clothing) and the heavy airhose. That's why it will be bouncing off the floor. The valve to empty the collected water is pushed in with your finger. If it's under pressure the water is going to get your hand, arm, sleeve and probably the front of your pants wet. If your compressor is putting a lot of oil in the line it will be a real mess. This is not unique to this separator most are like this. I mention it here so that the first time you empty it and your hand and the front of your pants are covered with oily water you can say to yourself 'that guy told me this would happen'. I would buy this again and recemend it to others. In fact you should buy two, always good to have a spare. Made in Taiwan. Comes with no instructions and none are needed. Arrived on time.

I needed this for my small 5 gallon compressor tank to remove the water. The one that was originally on the tank broke a long time ago. Since I just use the compressor to mainly fill tires I did not replace it. I have a new project that requires the use of a sand blaster and the manufacture recommends a filter of remove moisture. Plus you should just have one anyway. I like that this one is clear so it's easy to see when it needs to be emptied which is just a mater of pressing the button. It's not really made to be in a horizontal position, which is how it would, have been installed, so I added a few pieces of pipe to get it to around a 45 degree angle with the valve a the bottom so any moisture collects near the outlet and is easily ejected when the button is pressed. Seems well made and should last a long time. I definitely recommend this filter for smaller size tanks. Large ones that produce a lot of CFM might required a larger unit so you are not pressing it all the time.

I bought this air filter/liquid seperator for use on my CO2 laser so that I could use my shop air compressor for "Air assist". I found it to work quite well. It is not big or heavy and it appears to be well built/sturdy. I attached it to the end of my reel hose right before it attaches to my laser cabinet. I live in a fairly dry climate so there is'nt a lot of moisture build up to begin with but the filtering seems to be good.
