Q: Does the blade stay connected or does it shoot off?

Stays connected. Doesn't go out very far. If it was real I don't believe it would be practical. However my 10 yr old grandson appeared pleased. don't was pleased. Fortunately, he is not an assasin and does not need practicing. Bit pricey.

Q: Is this an official item from Ubisoft, or a knock off?

It's an ubisoft exclusive. They sold 10,000 with special addition copies of ac origins
