Perfect solution to my particular application
This Holiday season, my wife has picked up a couple Christmas do-dads that she wanted to put outside on display for the holidays. They have lights on them. I have included a picture of said do-dads. Each requires a plug for for it's set of lights. I also have a set of lights that are about 100- feet long that I wanted to wrap around a tree I have in the front yard. An extension cord gets them out to the tree so I can get all the lights onto the tree. That gives me 3 items that need an electrical outlet. Rather than have to plug and unplug these things all the time, I wanted a timer or other way to get these devices to turn on at dusk and off around midnight when we go to bed.So, looking around Amazon for a timer and a multiple outlet extension cord, I ran across this device which has a photocell built into it. I thought, "Perfect solution to my dilemma!" It has 3 outlets - just what I need. It is UL approved. It works with incandescent, LED or CFL lighting. It can be be used outdoors, so it is weatherproof. It handles up to 10A of load. It appeared to be versatile as it can be set to go off and on at according to whether it is dark or light outside or it can be set to go on at dusk and go off after 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours of operation. This has turned out to be a great purchase for my case. The 3 outlets handle my wife's 2 do-dads and our lights out on the tree in the front yard. It has a short cord so it plugs into the outlet we have on the front porch and hides behind the wife's Christmas snow man. I have run my lights cord for the front yard behind the bench on the porch (not shown in the picture since I took the shot before I had everything hooked up) to connect to the 3rd outlet. The whole shebang sits behind the snowman where it can't be seen. When it gets dark, all the lights go on. I have it set to turn off after 8 hours. We live in Northern Illinois, and so far we have had temps below freezing and considerable cold, blowing rain. It hasn't fazed this device. It has worked exactly like I needed and I like it a lot. It is very versatile and would be good for many different situations, like running lights in the house while you are traveling, making it look like someone is home. It definitely works great outdoors for my Christmas decorations/displays. It was well worth the money I paid and I would recommend this for anyone with a requirement for an automated lighting application - especially when you have more than one kind of light you want to control.

Works like a charm.
I have this on a porch, so it doesn't get rain or snow exposure. But it certainly is built well and is easy to use. Keeps my Christmas lights coming on at dusk . . . . consistently. Fair price, too.

Good value
The product works well. It’s a great value for the price. It’s my 3rd time buying one: my first one lasted 3 years, this past one lasted a little over a year. I’m not sure that happens, but the unit begins to tick loudly when you turn it on, so im replacing it. Still, for the good job it does and low price, I don’t mind replacing periodically, as it is outdoor in all the elements year round, in sun, rain, sleet, snow, and subzero temps.

High quality and sturdy! Performs well! Versatile use options!
Truly the real test of this item will be how it stands up over time, but that having been said, I am quite confident this will exceed my expectations. It is heavy duty well made, secure and so far performing exactly as expected! I also like the low profile (a lot of outdoor timers/electric eyes are on tall units you stake into the ground) making it easy to disguise in your landscaping while still allowing the photocell to be able to do its job. I use the photocell, dusk to dawn option, but this item also gives you the option of setting an on/off time, if you do not want your lights to run all night long. The cord is very short, which for me is perfect, less cord to try and cover with landscape rocks, and where I have it plugged in is still very accessible for me, should I want to change options or plug in another light, just keep that in mind for your situation. Also if you plan on using the photocell on at dusk off at dawn option, the photocell does NOT have to be in full or even partial sun to operate well, but if it is in an extremely dark area, such as thick overhanging branches within a few inches over the photocell it MAY be triggered to go on during very cloudy/dark/rainy days. Mine is behind a fountain right up against the outer wall of our home, maybe only gets an hour or so of sun a day, but the photocell has unobstructed access to the sky and has performed exactly as expected even on stormy days. I really couldn't be happier with this item!

Problem solved, lights on and off automatically.
This thing is brilliant ! I put my xmas lights back up to brighten the mood in the neighborhood( virus gloom). It is super easy to use. Just plug it in an set the timer. It turns on at dusk every night and stays on for the amount of time you set.(This time of year I set it for 4 hours and so it come on around 8 and stays on until midnight). It is right above some motion sensor lights but as long as the lights don't stay on for 15 minutes straight, which they never do, it doesn't effect the timer. You can also set it to run from dusk to dawn. I wish I had found this years ago.

No Complaints
I plugged it into the socket, plugged an extension cord to the timer, then plugged the outdoor holiday lights to the extension cord. At 5pm, set the timer to 6 hours. The lights went off after 6 hours, then the next day, came on at 5pm.

Great for my Outdoor Lights
I bought this a few months ago to replace a dead older model from a different maker. I was skeptical about using the dial because the previous one was digital, but it turns out this was easier to set up and use. Really happy with this purchase!
