Great product but took forever to arrive
The book appeared new - excellent condition. I was very pleased with the book but very disappointed with shipping. It was shipped as printed media and took several weeks beyond expected receiving date to arrive. Had I known about the extremely long shipping time I would not have purchased. This vender has quality products. If you don’t mind long shipping times then I would recommend.

Covers a lot, very easy to read
Very informative if you want to photograph objects close-up. Very easy to read. I wish the author would have devoted some space to handle specifically the photographing of mineral specimens such as crystals

An ideal aid...for the novice and the not quite beginner
I have some experience of close-up photography.I have written reviews on large scale model locomotives and rolling stock and taken many shots to support the script. So some of the information clarified what I already knew; but there was a lot that was new.The only problem is that this awakens needs for new kit to enable a better execution of the subjects one reviews. The book is an ideal guide to the practice of macro-photography.Do not worry if you only possess a point and shoot or bridge camera as the principles laid out for DSLR are equally applicable to much simpler cameras. One advantage of digital is that every shot does not have to count and you can keep experimenting with a technique until you get it right every single time. For many the macro end of their camera's focal range is probably an unknown, this book will help open up this often closed area of 'snapping' and allow you to take the pictures you may never have dreamed possible.

Don’t be deceived
If this is anything like former dummies books it will be just right. But don’t be deceived by the fact the used advertiser says they are in the UK they are not they are in America and it will take a month of Sundays to get to you. When it eventually arrives I’ll let you know if it’s any good!

Good how-to-do-it basic guide
This book would have been more handy if it had been a smaller size - still, it does cover all the basics.
