Because of their smaller size, they do not burn as long as regular or coco-coir coals: which means No waste. They also light faster than other coals, 1 match, not 3-5, saving on matches.Perfect for burning copal, cedar, myrrh, etc.

They light and get hot very fast. It's the third time I bought this product, and I use them for censer incense burner.

I was hoping for better quality for the price. Now I'm stuck with 200 + low quality charcoal disks. I suggest lighting these outside as they put off a ton of smoke when you first light them. Even more aggravating that they crumble easily and don't even burn all the way with my censer fully open.

I use these with a liturgical incense thurifer. Most of these charcoals light very quickly. It's almost like the lighting of a firework sparkler. You will notice a significant puff of little black smoke when the charcoals, that ignite properly, are first lit. But a few of the charcoals I used needed to be encouraged to light. You have to keep a constant flame on the charcoal for about ten seconds for the charcoal to fully ignite. However, once lit all the charcoals provide a good three to four minutes of even burning charcoal. Very happy with purchase.
