Most Accurate Weather Station I've Tried
When the weather station arrived and installed I was very pleased. The dual solar panels operated a small fan that cooled the sensor and gave accurate temperatures. The rain gage was accurate as were all the readings. The HD display was nice and had a feature that you could set to turn it off at night. But then one day when I unplugged the display to move it to another location and plugged it back in the display stuck on the opening screen. A quick research revealed this was an ongoing problem with these displays. Long story short, I contacted customer service and explained the issue and pointed out what was being reported on the forums and they replaced the display for free even though it was out of warranty. This is why I still give this unit five stars.I tried two other brands including the highly rated Ambient WS-2000 and I can't understand why it's so highly regarded. It never gives a true "feels like" temperature like my Acurite. But worse, even after five weeks it didn't get a single reading correct. Comparing it to other stations in my neighborhood on Weather Underground as well as the local weather station at the airport they would report barometric pressure dropping while the Ambient would show it rising. Another example, the forecast for local weather was rain for the next five days but the Ambient showed a sunny icon (clear skies) constantly. I realize the manual says its forecasts are only 70% correct but this unit was batting zero. The Acurite, on the other hand, it remarkably accurate in its forecasts and readings which is another reason for the five star review.BTW so many reviewers complain about a lack of battery in the display, but the more expensive and popular Ambient WS-2000 doesn't have one either. And no, you don't lose historical data when the power goes off. The power has to be off several minutes before the clock needs to be reset, but you never lose historical data. All you need to do is set the clock just like you do with your microwave.

Incredible Weather Station - A Must Have...
I know this model has been out for awhile but I have to say it...It's about time the displays with weather stations caught up with the rest of the world. I've been wanting to replace my older weather station for some time...all the while I dreamed of the display's being more graphic and in color. After looking over what Amazon offers...I found some which had the text in color and the forecast in color...however nothing "Wow'd" me in terms of the display until I came across the AcuRite 01024M Pro.Once received I had it installed within a couple days. I couldn't believe how easy it was compared to my older system. What made the installation a breeze (no pun intended lol) was the fact that the sensors are all housed within one unit...unlike the older systems which had at least three separate sensors and wires. It was as simple as attaching the sensor housing to a dowel at the height I wanted and then attach the dowel to the roof. Done. Going back to the display...all I had to do was plug it in and it automatically started the setup process and detected the sensors. In fact I didn't even need to look at the user guide it was so simple. And of course, the display was awesome. I loved the graphics...gives more of a computer feel to it...yet the info is laid out in an orderly fashion and easy to understand. An added plus which I actually love...seeing how the display is always on...is the option to dim the brightness at a specific time in the evening or...to have the display go into a sleep mode at a specific time and wake back up at a specific time. The screen dims and only shows the most important current weather info. If you need to see the main screen you simply press a key and it wakes up. The display goes back to sleep after 15 seconds of the last key press. This is very handy at night. I have mine go to "sleep" shortly after I call it a night, and wake back up about an hour before I get up. Now that is a very clever handy function. This system also updates more frequently when it comes to wind guests than my older system did which means it catches more guests with less data loss. My older system updated every 30 seconds...you can miss vital wind gust info within a 30 second span. So...this was an added plus for me. And lastly, this weather station also detects lightning which is a first for me. On day one after I installed it we had another winter storm push through and behind it heavy showers. This system detected a single lightning strike about 9 miles away...most likely off shore as we live on the coast. You see the lightning alert on both the display and the portable detector. I like how it actually tells you how many miles away the lightning was. To know if lightning is getting closer or moving further away you simply see if the system is reporting lighting with the distance decreasing or increasing. Decreasing means getting closer and increasing moving away. Simple enough. One thing to note, as you look at the included photos, I also have a wired wind gauge which is the small display you see above this weather station's display...and to the left of this stations sensors on my roof. And yes...I also purchased it from Amazon. It's electronic and gives me up to the second wind info...so a more accurate wind reading. While the wireless update window with the AcuRite 01024M Pro is much faster than older systems...there is still some data loss due to the update window it has...which is why I have a second wind gauge...kind of like a back-up system.So...if you're looking for a well put together weather station with clean crisp graphics...and in color to boot...I highly recommend this system. I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to tracking the remaining winter storms of 2017 as they push through our area. Hope this review helps you to make your decision....

Save Your Money
It sure looked nice, for 1 1/2 weeks, had to return display after it stopped receiving all signals, Lightning detector & 5 in 1 unit, Tried everything, would not work even after factory reset. Bought 2nd display and it continues working fine, Horrible customer service, no phones, only live chat, had to return original display, they said it's fine nothing wrong with it. even though it would not receive anything sitting right next to the second $80 display I bought (luckily). after another 3 weeks without my display they are sending it back to me, they want me to send the 5 in 1 unit back to them, Why, it's working just fine on the 2nd display to this day. This is a risky purchase, plan on some very disappointing wasted time and a sketchy design that looks fantastic, but so far has cost me a lot of unneccesary wasted time. They should have sent me a new display, and tested the intermittent unit extensively if they wanted to keep a happy customer. I even considered a 3rd display. Other than not working, the biggest flaw is that there is no battery power on the displays, so you loose all data when power is removed, not portable. If it was a little older I could see them repairing it, but since it was brand new it should have been immediately replaced with a fresh one. Customer Satisfaction Very Poor, No Phones in the Space Age 2018 Phone World, Look Out !2 month follow up- The display unit I returned that would not connect and was told there is nothing wrong with it is now dead again. It lasted till Jan 2 2019, about 2 months after they retuned it. Luckily I had bought a 2nd display which has worked fine since it came out of the box, is farther away, and shows a strong signal. The display just goes to dashes and no amount of reseting factory settings, or searching for sensors will get it to work including placing it next to the 5 in1. Am I supposed to go up on the roof every 2 months, take my sensor down and attempt to get it connected to the display? The company is so horrible to deal with I won't even try a 2nd repair claim, not surprised to see the huge price drop either since everyone has fatal flaws with this system before it's even a year, or in my case 1 week, then 2 months old, Absolute Junk, Do not get caught up in dealing with this company, which doesn't even use phones in 2019?

My new favorite toy! Easy to set up, easy to use, and very useful!
My new favorite toy! I had a weather station years ago that had far, far fewer features. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I started shopping for weather stations and found how much cheaper they are now and all of the cool features. I find myself checking the app, web site, or the station a couple of times a day. Watching trends like temperature trends has been really cool.I researched a lot of different brands but found that I liked AcuRite the best. Most of their stations have similar functionality, so I chose the AcuRite 01024 station due to the screen display. I liked this screen best of all. It was the nicest looking, crisp, and clean display that they offered. I also bought a water sensor for my basement and an outside ground temperature / humidity sensor. All of the sensors are a fair distance from the station and are separated by one or more walls. But, the sensors all communicate with the station just fine.AcuRite has a great discussion board on their web site. Lots of great discussions (and you can search old discussions for answers.) I recommend reading up on the best placement for the 5-in-1 sensor that measures wind speed, humidity, rain fall, dew point, etc... To get accurate wind readings, it should be as far away from structures / obstacles as possible and high off the ground. The screen on the 01024 station is great, but it is not a touch screen. Not really an issue for me, but it is a nice screen and, at first glance, you might think it was. Their Web page and smart phone apps are also really great. I'm thinking about getting a second station to put in the kitchen just as a conversation piece and so I can check things like wind and temperature even quicker. My one complaint is that the station does not have integrated Internet connectivity. I had to purchase the AcuRite smartHUB for that. It was not expensive, though, and it was easy to set up.

Beware of distance claims!
I am giving this unit 5 stars, but with some of MY help! The unit arrived well packed! and on time. The setup was spot on to the instructions! It worked perfect on the bench. The bench set up took me 45 min, but anyone could do it in half that time. I am just slow and methodical.Setting up the pole outside, and attaching the ground level battery took a couple of hrs. (see above). Much to my dismay the unit did not work fully. It had wind speed and direction, but no outside temp. The signal strength bars showed 4, but I suspected that. I changed batteries, (they read new) then I took the display to a closer room. It worked perfectly!, OK, OK ..... I wanted the display in my "Man Cave" so......... Since I was apparently slightly out of range, I remember the day when we had rabbit ears on our TV set, to get a better single we wrapped alum. foil around the antennas. I tried that and Voila!! enough signal to use my display where I wanted. The total distance from the outside unit to my display is about 60 feet with 3 walls. I guess about the max on could expect, but nowhere near the outlandish claims of 330 feet. ( I know line of sight and clear air).I have owned several other whether stations before, I am in love with this unit! It is the best I have ever had (so far)

Perfect for hobbyists
We got this as a birthday gift for my son and he loves it. One thing that is quite inconvient is that it is AC only and if there is a power outage or accidently unplugged all your data will wipe. We did buy the optional power supply for $32. Not that much pricey but other then that, it is a great weather station. Display is bright and easy to read and understand. Very useful. I would buy something from this brand again.

Quit working
I did buy the lightning detector with my purchase. As of the writing, Iโve owned it for about 2 years. It ran great for the first year.(-)No battery back-up in the display itself. When it becomes unplugged, the settings reset. Sometimes the records erase other times they do not. Go figure.(-) The display has a short power cord. Then the lighting detector started going crazyโฆOn sunny days it would register 1000s of lightning strikes an hour. Now it has quit working altogether. Now, the display will not go past the first screen. Tried unplugging/plugging the power plug to the unit and pressing all (or one button at a time) while it powers on. Iโm not the only one with this problem as the on-line support has a question and no solution.Throw it all of it (the outside main station, lightning remote detector and the inside LCD display) in with the electronics recycling pile.(Personal small fans, k-cup coffee makers, robot vacuum, blue-tooth speakers, old usb cables and power adapters)Look for another one, a different brand.

Very pleased with the unit.
Iโve only had this for a few days but my initial review is all positive. The information screen is very nice and the pre arranged information is really everything that Iโd want. It was simple to set up which is a big plus. The lighting detector initially didnโt connect and the display would say the detector wasnโt reading but that self corrected soโฆ I wish it had rechargeable batteries and a solar panel to prevent me from having to get a ladder out when the time comes but thatโs my only minor complaint.

GOOD WEATHER STATION
We've had this since May (it's July 26 now) and it does a nice job recording rain fall, temperatures, humidity, lightning and we have it a good 100+ feet away from the receiver screen. The lightning thing is neat. We've got hits as far as 38km and I think 1km is it's closest showing. During the heat wave it recorded a temp of 39 in the yard, which was right in line with the old mercury thermometer. The rain meter seems to send updates every 15 minutes or so. Cause it will go from 0 to say 1.6 after it has rained for a bit. Then it jumps to the next reading. So it's not "realtime" but it kinda is. The wind direction works good. The wind speed, hard to say how spot on it is. We've had some pretty big wind storms this year and had a high reading of 28kph. News claimed 50k gusts. Maybe it just goes by "sustained" wind speed. Overall I think it's good value. The screen is nice and easy to read and changes to the light or dark and even has pics of the current and upcoming weather. Like before it gets cloudy, it has showed clouds and rain on the display even though it's sunny. But 30-60 minutes later it becomes cloudy out. Pretty neat trick. There's cheaper and more expensive ones out there. Got this on "sale" for bout $280. We shall see how it handles -40 this winter. Lol Oh I also have it bout 20 feet above ground.

Not suited to Southern Hemisphere
Great product in theory, but it is designed for the Northern hemisphere so the solar panels on the outside station face the wrong way in Australia. This is not insurmountable, but it means using more batteries. The lightning tracker works a treat during storms, but returns an error message once the storm has passed saying that it needs to be relocatedAlso not very durable. After 2 years, the wind meter no longer turns and the outside humidity is stuck at 99%

Buen Producto
Todo correcto, lo รบnico para hacer notar es que si se va la luz se pierde la memoria con los datos anuales, mensuales, semanales y tiene que volver a aprender

Accuracy
Great product. Very easy to Install and the monitor is superb with great resolution and all the data I need. Down side, lightning monitor shows lightning strike when there is none. Overall very happy with the product. Barry

Great Unit
Easy to setup and configure. My only negative with this unit is the remote unit needs to be plugged in, no battery operation. It does have battery backup. This is a great unit, easy to read and seems right on the mark for accuracy.
