Love this lens! As far as RF lenses go it's great value for money. Quality feel and smooth operation whilst zooming. I use it with my R8 and it has a permanent place in my camera bag. I was worried about the higher aperture in low light situations, but I shouldn't have been, its surprisingly versatile and offers great quality images even in lower light situations. I've used it it great affect at sporting events such as F1 and for wildlife photos. Ideal for enthusiasts.

Fantastic lens for the price. Paired up with my R7 I get an effective full frame focal range of 160-640mm. It is relatively light weight and compact, making it easy to carry whenever I take the camera out. My RF 100-500L is of course a better lens but it is also a fair bit bigger and I don't always want to carry that with me. Auto focus performance is really good, I have not had any issues with it myself and the same goes for the IS. IS works well enough that I can hand hold videos with the lens extended fully to 400mm and shoot at slower shutter speeds with acceptable results.

I bought this lens to fill a gap between lenses as I have a manual lens that goes from 400 to 800mm the idea being I could get out and about trying my hand at wildlife etc, I'm just amature having fun and I've had that with the RF 100-400mm which gives you easy to focus sharp shots, I've read in some reviews that it's light to hold that I found it slightly heavier than they were saying as for size it fits easily into my camera bag when you see how pricey it can be for a lens like this, this one is good quality.

Doing alot of wildlife photography from a distance it's great value, no regrets, never let me down.

This lens is light and performs well in good light. It focuses fast and is sharp wide open. I took this to Silverstone F1 2026 with my R10 and was able to shoot through catch fencing at 400mm f8, at f9+ it struggles to clear the catch fencing. I have previously used the Tamron EF 100-400 adapted to the R10, I preferred the colours slightly on that lens but the 500g+ weight trade off is not worth it.

Delighted with the performance of this lens, it's not great in low light conditions, but for what I want it for it's perfect.

This is the best lens that I use on my Canon R8. The images are always so crisp and clear. I’ve recently used it to photograph some Red kites in flight and the images were stunning. It is as equally good on slower moving objects or even still objects. It is light weight and so versatile. The autofocus feature and stabilisation and fantastic for this lens. As with all of my Canon RF lenses the overall quality and fit to the body looks and feels great.

QI excellent si l'on l'utilise correctement (c.a.d. avec soin... par exemple, le champ de netteté est très restreint à 300/400mm en gros plan, seulement 2-3 mm). Test pratique : Un tirage d'essai d'un paysage très détaillé, de qualité d'exposition, en format A2 (60x42 cm) d'une image RAW 24mp bien traitée, est effectivement à l'égalité avec un Canon EF 100-400 L aux mêmes ouvertures (f8 et 11). Gros plan avec point de netteté correcte (il faut s'entraîner!) également très bon... et très proche ! Très confortable à manier. La légèreté est formidable. Bonne qualité de construction : tous les contrôles sont fermes et "lisses". Donc, rapport qualité/prix excellent, et vivement recommandé, pourvu que vous soyez content avec l'ouverture restreinte. I bought this Canon 100 to 400 mm Zoom Lens for my Canon Mirrirless R7 Camera with Cropped Sensor (1.6). Because it gave me an affective 160 mm to 640 mm Focal length Lens. The good thing about this Lens is its light weight and very Sharp Image. I also have Canon 1.4 x focal Extender further increasing focal range to 224mm to 896mm. Great for wildlife Photography
