How easy is it to take out the battery from the controller

This has to be one of the best Xbox charging units I have ever bought for my kids and I have bought a few over the years. Yes these batteries are very easy to take out of the unit and put back in (couldn’t be any easier) I have no issues with this whatsoever had it over a year now. Hope this helps.

4 xbox controller battery packs and 1 battery charging dock, right?

Yes, the package contains a total of 4 xbox controller batteries, an xbox battery charging dock, and a usb c power cable. The battery is suitable for xbox one, xbox one s/x, xbox Series x/s, Xbox Elite controller.

I put these on charge when I received them today and have been on for about 8 hours and all for are still red is this normal?

No, should be green. Try a different charger, lead or socket. Soft charge not fast. Battery should fit into slots easy no resistance like being stuck when you remove. All else fails,, send back

I want extra battery packs without buying the whole unit

I wouldn't unless you need to find the make and buy it from there. Because 9 not all packs have the same.e charging points
