Awesome read teaching kids how to help their community
Loved this book, actually took it to school as the mystery reader for a 2nd grade and a 3rd grade class! It was great to give ideas of how to impact your community at a local level and even as a kid

Beautifully illustrated picture book about importance of helping others
"Every day, you can make a difference by helping someone. Each time you do, you become part of something bigger than yourself.” SONIA SOTOMAYOR"Just Help! How to Build a Better World” is a children’s picture book authored by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. The story centers around a young girl whose mother encourages to help someone every day. Throughout the story we see a diverse community of friends of the main character, Sonia, helping others in big and small ways. From children sharing their seat on the bus, to a school service project making treat boxes for servicemen and women, to children recycling, to donating clothing, to voting. The book sends a simple yet strong message about the importance of helping others and being an active part of your community in order to make the world a better place.According to Sotomayor, the story is based on her mother’s commitment of service to others and the encouragement that she gave to both Sonia and her brother to do the same. Beautifully illustrated by Angela Dominguez. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sotomayor shows how to "Just Help!"
I read this book and wanted to donate a copy to our church library. We all need help and Sotomayor shows us how to engage people who need help with those of us who want to help and don't know how to start. We all benefit from reading and talking about the help we can give. We gain an understanding from what each person is going through. The notes show how carefully Sotomayor vetted her information and her language . I can't say enough good about her books, her writing, her ability to communicate clearly, and her understanding.

can do
I love how each child in this book does something worth doing which then inspires the next person to do something as well. What a great way to link together a chain of goodwill.
