where have this been all my life
what an outstanding tool. can't believe it's taken me this long to finally use something like this. it works so well. there is no mess to clean up. to use: warm up the engine. hook up the largest hose to the extractor. then attach the largest tube that will fit into the oil dipstick tube. pump the extractor. sit back, enjoy a cold one, and in 10 minutes or so all of the oil is out of the engine. to empty: remove the plastic cap (where hose attach) and small plug under handle. small plug removal will allow oil to flow out better. dump oil into a container. and that's it. no mess. hints: comes with 4 plastic and 1 copper tube. attached 2 or 3 tubes together to get the length you need. i removed the oil filler cap at the engine during extraction to help the flow. not sure it helped or not......but saw someone suggesting it. pumped the unit 15 times or so. ......be careful though. this works so well you may start changing oil for all of your neighbors because it's so easy to use. i'm sensing a side business starting soon......

Worked Great, But Instructions Leave Out One Very Important Point
When I first got this, it was clear that there was no way any of the hoses would reach from the extractor (on the floor) up to, and then to the bottom of the oil drain plug on the car. I later realized that you need to connect the largest hose to the extractor, and then any remaining hose will connect to the larger hose. See picture. I pumped the unit maybe 10 times to start, and then another few times as the extractor filled up. . It didnt seem like too many pumps, and it pumped around 8 quarts out in no more than 10 minutes. Very easy to use. Draining the unit into containers was also very easy. My floor didnt get any oil on it, and even my hands stayed fairly clean. I should mention that using an extractor only makes sense if your oil filter is on top of the engine. If you have to crawl under the engine to change your filter then this probably isnt the unit for you (I'm only going to use it on the one car with an oil filter on top).

Love it
I love this thing. I still opt for the drain plug if the engine has one but most smaller engines do not and this pulls nearly every drop out. Perfect for overfills too.

Worked great to change the oil from the top on my '06 SLK 280
Purchased this when I purchased by vehicle with a top engine oil filter. The 9L capacity holds everything and the pump works super well, just dropped the line down the dipstick hole and pumped the pump and it pulled all the oil from the car. Poured the old oil out easily into the empty oil containers afterwards cleanly. If you have a top engine oil filter, and don't want to try and lift (your more likely than not extremely low car) to change the oil, this is the way to go.

Ease of operation
Keeps you from having to climb under the vehicle for oil changes. I bought one for me and one for our son. I usually go through three series of pumping/sucking to get all the oil out of the vehicle. And there is no electric motor to fail.
