This is truly a Five Star product when it comes to security cameras/systems. Not only a fantastic value (everything required is included), but also the most simple plug and play system I have setup so far. Nowhere else will you get this much bang for your buck, I promise. In the box: 4 cameras with night vision, all the cords required, all power supplies, a mouse, remote control, ethernet cord, dvr box and all the hardware to mount the cameras. The cords to run the cameras to different locations were long enough to route to each corner of my house. I used an HDMI cord to wire the DVR into a spare flat screen I have and VOILA...All four cameras are displayed on the screen and the setup page is the first thing that pops up. So simple, I promise if you're hesitant about being able to set this up by yourself, don't be. Now keep in mind that if you want to record to the DVR you need to install a hard drive or set up the system to record to the cloud. I haven't done either because Im really just concerned with seeing what's going on outside while I am home. But I did go over the instructions for both and they are simple as well. The video quality is also fantastic. Since I am not recording yet I took some video with my phone to show you my setup. Check out the video. And I will come back to update this tonight when I get a chance to try out the night vision. I take the time to write reviews in hopes that by sharing my experience with a product, good or bad, I will be able to help other shoppers make more informed purchasing decisions. Nice little security camera setup for a very reasonable price. The cameras are waterproof but are are lightweight and may not hold up in rough environments. The system includes everything you need to get up and running. I added a 2tb drive which installed very easily. The set does not include an HDMI cable. Setup took a few hours. The instruction manual has just enough info to get you through the process, though it doesn't get too detailed. Video quality is good, with night vision adequate. The Smart Motion Detect feature is great as the system only records video when there is motion detected. In checking recordings, it seems to work very well. For the price, you won't find many system with this many features. I am very happy with it. I would prefer cameras with a better build quality as I think they would hold up better, but that of course would cost more, so I can't complain at all. So far, I'm very happy with the setup.

Mediocre quality at best. Physical set up wasn't bad except one of the BNC cables does not work. Need to get another one and run that wire at some point. The DVR system isn't terrible, but the network setup would not be easy for a standard user. Doable, but not easy. The mobile App is terrible. Video quality is also terrible.

Cameras do ok job, but the dvr stop working all together at the 5 months mark... Try to resolve the problem with Erick, but he was of no help, took a long time to reply to messages and ones the 6 month mark came around he completely stop communicating... This device has a 6 months service/warranty.

This system works, sometimes... I had to return the product after a few days of use for the following reasons. The camera quality is not sufficient enough to allow for for facial identification. You can see someone is in view, but cannot see enough to give accurate description. The software used to view and record works intermittently. To view different cameras, you must logout of the program, then log back in. If viewing from your phone, you must reset the app in order to view. Sometimes, the cameras system will disconnect from the internet, requiring you to reset the entire system also, the DVR must be wired to your internet router, it does not have built in wifi. Finally, I have been unable to get the motion activated record to work at all. No notifications of motion detection or anything. All in all, the system works sometimes but is not reliable enough for security purposes.

This is an update after 5 months of use. Good value for the cost. It was shipped/received fastest of any item I have ordered - kudos to Family-security. I hooked it up right out of the box and it all worked just fine. Installed my own hard drive and setup was easy. Had a number of questions and got quick responses. Video quality: One camera has a fairly good video, the other 3 have slightly pixelated diagonal lines - wish the video was better. Playback: Even at 8x the playback takes a long time to review the videos. Would be very helpful if the alarms would put a tic on the recordings to see where movement was detected - this is at a remote site with no internet connection and no continuous monitoring. The recordings are downloaded and viewed at home. VLC is the only app that I could get to play the .h264 video, but trying to play it back fast resulted in picture disintegration. My best results were in downloading (backup) in avi format and transferring the videos to my android tablet, clicking on the file, and then using my finger to move the cursor to scroll through the video quite rapidly and just looking for movement during the day or light flashes at night. Then I can quickly play the segment to determine if there is a security intrusion on the property. I was able to detect an intrusion and take snapshots from the video to provide to the police along with the video segment. Overall very worth the cost, but I would opt for better cameras if I have to replace it. Update after 5 months of use. If you have a metal building with the cables running inside/under/along the metal, the video is significantly degraded. I just added RG-59U coax cable, so just using the supplied cable only for power to the cameras, and the video is now good. But I also ordered 2 higher resolution cameras with more LEDs. One of my cameras appears to be going bad, i.e., intermittent blackouts. And now wishing I had ordered an 8 CH system.

This certainly is a good bang for your buck and came right in time for the holidays!! (Package theifs beware!!) First off, the equipment arrived neatly packaged with everything you need to get started. I was eager to try it out first before drilling holes in my wall for a permanent install. Let me just say, I am quite impressed with the quality of the camera. The image is sharp and doesn't appear to have much a delay if at all. The installation instructions are a bit difficult to follow, but if you're like me (one who never reads directions) then you will have no problem getting the system and everything configured. If you are not tech savvy it does require some patience, but you will be thrilled once you get it going. I can not wait to get my cameras permenately placed to get full surveillance going. Oh and the app that pairs with it is pretty awesome as well! I expected delays in footage viewing from my device, but it seems to be spot on! All in all, I would definitely reccommend this security system!

So I bought the one with no hard drive because I had a bunch of hard drives laying around my house anyway. I really thought this was going to be a piece of garbage it was like a hundred bucks and there were four cameras and you can look at it through the internet and everything. Well I guess technology has gotten a lot better and a lot cheaper since the last time I needed a security system. This is really clear I mean it's not like 1080p where you can zoom in to license plates. But it's in full color and it's loaded with features. I mean if I was standing in the corner of the room I wouldn't be able to zoom in with my eyes either but this is pretty much as good as being in the room minus the microphone. I was able to get it too play from my phone so that was really good. If someone is going to rob me they better take this security system with them because if not I'm going to have some pretty clear evidence. $100 plus a spare hard drive and I sleep a lot easier I think it's worth it.
