Brilliant cooker bought to replace my ninja foodie

I bought this following a recommendation from someone - I haven't owned a rice cooker before but wanted something I could use for other things, not just rice. This is a huge upgrade from my microwave rice cooker! I cook brown rice on the stove but have now been using this and it cooks it perfectly. Short grain rice for sushi is perfect, and I've also tried Thai sticky rice - another success. The inner pot is huge and I've also been trying one pot dishes, such as rice cooker bibimbap and tofu rice bowls, and the steamer worked well for steamed dumplings, however I'm still trying to work out the timing (steaming with nothing in for 5 minutes to warm it up first seems to do the trick for me). I use this most days and I can't imagine life without it now!

I have always been a user of the Tefal 4-in-1 cooker for rice and others, but after 4 units all gave up the ghost after 3 years due to terrible wiring on the lid hinge - a known fact but not fixed by Tefal - I decided to give this a go! So far it has been very easy to use, very efficient, and I like the ease of cooking. There is one flaw though - if you are a persisant rice cooker - and this is your main reason for buying - a couple of issues arise due to its lack of a steam/water drain at the back of the unit. Unlike the 4-in-1 it has no drain cup at the rear - and consequantly the steam/water residue produced a cannot run out of the unit and stays inside the cooking bowl. Why does that matter I hear you ask - well if like me you usually leave the rice in the bowl - you cannot do that with this unit. If you leave rice in the bowl like a normal rice cooker it will have a maximum life of 24hrs before the rice deteriorates and goes off, Good product - but for serious rice cookers - think twice how you store/use your cooked rice before buying!

I bought this 2 years ago. I can say it’s very good quality and helps me cook flexibly. I do think it’s a bit slow with heating and might take more time compared to regular cooking on the stove. Overall, I think it’s a very good kitchen addition. I recommend it

Absolutely 😍 🪭 did a stew and on slow cooked say it does it in 4 hours but check on it in 2 hours and all done meat lovely and tasty and tender delicious would definitely recommend not tried the other functions yet but for this fantastic value

I’ve had almost every brand of these cookers in the last few years. They’re all pretty great. This one is very well made with good quality materials. Unlike some it doesn’t have a rear tray for steam water so you get more steam from the top. It has influenced where I sited mine. Avoid placing under worktops if you’re boiling something. Also unlike some it does not have heat-proof plastic handles to aid getting the bowl out, which can be a nuisance with a full bowl. Bigger gripe is that the text is very hard to read to select the menu items. I realise they’re trying to cram in many functions but I think it would be better to number programs and print the legend on the machine itself. Who can read teeny type on an LED? Other than that, it’s excellent. The food cooks well with no interference from the bad cook! Anything from scrambled eggs to roast chicken comes out perfectly. I cook in ours almost exclusively and will probably buy another - although, top tip, you can buy additional bowls from the manufacturer’s web site so you can do main and pudding without washing up in between. One feature to praise is that this cooker properly browns and crisps food. I’ve had others that were not hot enough to fry or even sauté properly. I recommend this cooker.

I do not write any reviews, but wow... this device is amazing! I made spanish paella and risotto within 30-40 mins without mixing it. I left it for 30 mins, came downstairs to check on it and it was perfectly cooked! No burns, the rice was cooked perfectly. I also slow cooked guiness & beef stew with dumplings. Another huge win! It was unbelievable! The tefal cooks everything itself pretty much. The browning option fries the meat before you put the rest of the ingredients in the pot. The soup option is great as well. It cooked delicious indian soup again - without mixing. You just put everything in the pot and leave it. I'm not a fan of baking, so that I will probably not be using this option, and I cannot review it. It's a perfect tool for people who work long/late hours and coming back home too tired to cook. It saved me from eating crap food and fast foods. This device deserves 5 star!
